Mission: To empower low-income alaskans through advocacy, education, affordable housing and direct services that respect our unique values and cultures.
Programs: Delivery of early childhood development and family support services to 1313 children and their families through head start, early head start, parents as teachers and a child development center. Services included nutritious meals and snacks to low income children and screenings for developmental, sensory and behavioral concerns and parent referrals to meet identified family needs.
provided affordable housing to 337 households (including 39 children) and transitional housing to 349 households (including 188 children) for a total of 686 individuals over the course of the year.
acquired sites for 15 units of self-help owner-built homes and qualified 8 families for the project. Weatherization services for 111 homes in 6 communities and 21 mobile homes in anchorage. Forty-two home modifications were completed for persons with disabilities and senior access home improvements for 92 homes.
