Mission: Our mission is to make a positive impact in the community by recruiting volunteers age 55 and older to help deliver priority services to people of all ages, providing dane county with a valuable resource.
Programs: Rsvp recruits volunteer drivers to use their own vehicles to provide transportation to elderly and/or handicapped residents of dane county and home delivered meals to homebound elderly outside the city of madison. This program helped 1,911 elderly people and veterans of all ages maintain their independence by providing 8,909 rides and delivering 87,756 meals. Through rsvp's vets helping vets program, veterans are recruited as volunteer drivers to serve veterans and their family members. Veterans who are unable to drive can receive a ride from a fellow veteran volunteer driver who understands some of the problems that younger veterans are facing. 663 unduplicated volunteers served in this program during the year.
rsvp recruits volunteers ages 55 and older, helping seniors remain active through significant volunteer service benefiting dane county residents of all ages. Rsvp staff provide personal placement and on-going follow-up to ensure that volunteers are matched to opportunities that make use of their talents and interests. This year 651 volunteers served in 72 nonprofit and public agencies.
