Causes: Mental Health, Residential Mental Health Treatment
Mission: To provide a highly effective therapeutic program for adults with mental illness so they can learn to manage their symptoms, achieve their highest level of independence, and lead rewarding lives.
Programs: The core of rose hill's services is the residential rehabilitation program. In a step by step process, rose hill's mental health team directs a comprehensive program, including clinical care, therapeutic work, job readiness classes, social interaction and recreation. Concurrently, a psychiatrist works closely with each resident to develop an effective medication regimen. Lengths of stay are determined by an individualized treatment plan. The program, which is licensed by the state of michigan, can accommodate up to 46 residents at a time (including the co-occurring program). Significant achievements for 2017:1) achieved major improvements in residents' social, occupational and psychological functioning along with a very high degree of reduction in their symptoms of psychosis. 2) obtained a community foundation grant to train our clinical staff, our medical director and admissions team in the new evidenced based therapy of ro dbt. 3) engaged in two outcome measure research projects to obtain evidence to enhanced programming. 4) refined co-occurring program module to include more group community integration and increased psycho-education groups. 5) utilized the advanced clinical curriculum to train the clinical team in a variety of therapeutic modalities such as trauma work, anger management, act etc. 6) enhanced our activities program, by hiring an activities coordinator 32 hours a week. 7) strengthened the clinical team by employing a second shift clinical director and expanding clinical coverage.
rose hill's extended residential program provides up to 17 individuals at a time with necessary around-the-clock supervision and medication monitoring in a safe and supportive setting. Residents participate in structured daily activities that are selected by the group. This program is licensed by the state of michigan. Significant achievements for 2017:1) enhanced the daily skill building opportunities to include meal prep and cooking at our horton house facility. 2) graduated two long term residents to our transitional living program.
the transitional living program (tlp) is designed specifically for individuals who have achieved a basic level of independence, but need some support and guidance before moving back into the community on their own. Up to 17 tlp residents can practice their daily living skills and experience independent living in a familiar, secure environment. This program helps bridge the gap between rose hill's residential program and off-campus life. Significant achievements for 2017:1) placed all participants in paid, volunteer positions or college classes. 2) implemented group support to structure daily living and social integration among residents. 3) provided increased social milieu activities with csp clients. 4) dedicated a support staff position to the transitional housing unit. 5) partnered with a social worker who specializes in housing and organizational challenges to assist our residents.
the community support program (csp) provides psychiatric and case management services to rose hill graduates who are living independently in nearby communities. Significant achievements for 2017: 1) increased our vocational coordinator staffing hours to assist csp clients to obtain and maintain paid employment. Assisted 17 clients to obtain communtiy employment. 2) served 25 clients.
