Mission: To provide a "home away from home and offer support to families seeking medical care for their children.
Programs: House program - ronald mcdonald house of rochester, minnesota, supports families of children seeking specialized pediatric medical care. The house primarily serves mayo clinic patients who travel across the united states and the world for expert care. Our 42 bedroom home away from home provides bedrooms and shared, common living areas. In 2017, we served 761 families, yet 1,079 families were turned away. A child's medical treatment impacts the entire family. House staff members partner with a strong volunteer core from the community to provide house dinners, holiday celebrations, and family activities in an effort to support the entire family and help them cope with their child's illness. Volunters are very active in the day-to-day operation of the house. Last year, 2,368 people served as housewarmers, board members, committee members, special event volunters, service group volunters and house dinner volunters.
