Years ago, when Rockstar Canine Rescue and Sanctuary was young, a dog found herself at our door. We brought her in and immediately posted signs in our neighborhood. Apparently, the fosters that she escaped from and Rockstar posted signs across a busy, busy street. A good samaritan saw both sets of signs and called the number on the LOST signs. Soon after, before having the chance to take her to check for a chip, we received a call identifying her by a scar on her belly. That is when we met Jamie, Rockstar's founder. Apparently, Joan Jett had escaped her foster home and everyone was frantically looking for her. Jamie came by to see her and Joan Jett was ecstatic to see her. They recognized each other immediately and it was a tear filled moment of happiness. I provided the new foster home for her until a new home was found. She checked up on Joan Jett regularly and faithfully. Her efforts are endless. Jamie's dedication to her mission is amazing, absolutely incredible; her love for these unfortunate dogs is truly heartwarming. Jamie is indeed a Rockstar!

Very impressed with Rockstar. They caught my eye a while back when looking for a dog to adopt. They always do their best to help animals that everyone else and other rescues have given up on. I was very impressed with their compassion.

I was a volunteer for rockstar rescue for 2.5 years. I love that they stay a small rescue that takes the time with each dog giving every individual quality time each day.

Rockstar Rescue has the MOST caring and MOST understanding people there for the doggies. Always taking the hard cases, the 'no hopes'. I am continually amazed by their never ending effort to make every single doggy's life full and fun and rich. They are the best.

I’ve volunteered at Rockstar Rescue since 2015. I’ve seen first hand the dedication they have to every dog. Most of the pups that come into Rockstar’s care are from some of the worst conditions and always need love, care and time to realize the world can be a loving place where they deserve, kisses and respect everyday. Rockstar not only helps dogs that come directly into their care, they also help the community and homeless that have animals. The homeless people with dogs, always need food and medical help for the dogs. Rockstar helps them even those that won’t surrender their dogs. Rockstar Rescue helps those in need, and I have yet to find another rescue like them. Every dog makes such tremendous strides with them, I’m proud to be a volunteer with Rockstar!

Found a large mixed breed with 2 old breaks in a barely functioning back leg. I called over 50 rescues, offering foster and money towards care and Rockstar is the only one who answered the phone and said “yes we will take him as a rockstar.” Every time I’ve got a dog in need, Rockstar says yes. They’re all inclusive and always giving. No one can match their relentless love and top notch support for animals. Thank you from all of us for all you do!!

Rockstar Rescue really is a sanctuary for dogs, complete with a pool (unless the pups put cracks in it), but then it’s promptly replaced. On my first day, I was impressed about the knowledge of the staff. Chelsea, an employee, took the time to explain the personality of each dog. Every dog is treated like an individual and staff adjusts to accommodate them. I have volunteered for many humane societies and shelters, but sometimes when I completed a shift I was left with a feeling of dread regarding the conditions and the future for the animals. I have the opposite feeling after being at Rocstar Rescue. The dogs have a true home where they are completely loved while they await a “forever home”. I look forward to Sunday mornings when I volunteer and can be a part of it.

I started volunteering with Rockstar about a year ago shortly after relocating to Phoenix. I looked at several shelters and rescues in the Phoenix area but this seemed to be the best fit. It is a small facility that helps to care for and rehabilitate dogs that are sometimes harder to adopt. It also functions as a sanctuary, so there is no deadline for the dog to get adopted. If they aren't adopted they have a home here. And what a clean and organized home they have! The dogs have a nice structured environment and their kennels are sanitized twice a day! We are not a big crew and there is low turnover. These dogs are very much loved and well taken care of. It is a small but mighty rescue that has managed to re-home 300 dogs in its 8 years of operation.

I have been donating to Rockstar Canine Rescue & Sanctuary for many years, and I plan on continuing. I encourage others to donate and often go out of my way to detail why I feel so strongly about this particular nonprofit.
I spoke to Jaime the owner in the very early years of taking on this project which for her is truly a passion. She detailed her vision, what her overall mission as a rescue would be. How she planned on setting herself apart from others. That was over 5 years ago and she has never given up, always remained true to her cause, she cares about the placement of the animal, she strives to educate and involve the the public, she does not take a break or a vacation as she made a commitment and knows there is always a dog in need. She has raised money to provide kennels that belong to Rockstar where the care of the animal is 24/7 provided by Rockstar staff and volunteers. Top Notch Rescue!!!!

Rockstar Rescue is an amazing Rescue Group. They are so devoted to giving each dog a wonderful life while they await a forever home. I adopted my beloved Heather, a 3 legged chihuahua that was rescued by Rockstar from the humane society after being hit by a car, and nurtured back from an amputation and broken leg. I admire the dedication of the rescue in making sure they save dogs and give them a forever home. They take excellent care of each dog they have. Heather was sad to leave them but has now adjusted and happy in her forever home. Thank you Rockstar Rescue!!!

We were desperately looking for a dog to rescue. All of the other rescues we tried didn't give us the time of day. Then we met ROCKSTAR. The most amazing, easy to work with, honest, caring and efficient rescue I've EVER dealt with. We have our new family member and we couldn't be happier. Rockstar is AMAZING!!!!!

Rockstar is one of the few tried and true rescues out there. They say what they'll do and they do what they say! They have an amazing facility that is ALWAYS clean, odor free and full of happy dogs.
They are going onward and upwards in the industry and countless lives will be saved because of them.

RR is by far the best rescue facility I've ever been to. I love love the way Jamez caters to each and every dog they rescue. I highly recommend anyone that is looking to adopt go there. I got my lil girl from them about 3 yes ago. She's the light of my life and without them I wouldn't have her!

I have donated monetarily to Rockstar Rescue and Sanctuary but am even more impressed when I visited this week. Jamie and her Roadies do a wonderful job at provided a home to these pets that love to be around her. It is so very clean and organized. Everyone should trust Rockstar Canine Rescue and Sanctuary to handle the finances that you will donate to them.

I first found out about Rockstar Rescue when I met a lady who had adopted a dog from there previously. I checked out their website and started following them on Facebook. I realized they do the work other rescues want to avoid. RR takes on the most difficult cases and puts in so much time and effort into each dog they take in. After a couple years of following the page, I saw an adorable dog someone had found wandering the streets. I called the rescue and had a meet and greet with Andy in February 2015. After an in home meet and greet, I officially adopted Andy 2 weeks later. He is my little rascal who I adore so much, and thank Rockstar Rescue everyday for bringing us together (:

I stopped by this rescue last week to meet the owner and ask her some questions about another Dog Rescue. I have to say I was impressed with Rockstar!! This rescue is amazingly clean and far exceeded my expectations!! If and when I am looking to adopt another dog I will come here first.

Rockstar Canine Rescue & Sanctuary is truly amazing with everything they do. Their facilities are incredibly clean and safe. I have seen first hand the incredible transformations of Rockstar dogs that no one else wanted. Rockstar applies patience and love to these amazing dogs and gives them a chance at a happy, healthy, loving life. Rockstar is VERY passionate about what they do and how they do it, they even partake in on going learning through higher education which is pretty remarkable.

This is an amazing nonprofit. They are so passionate about giving the best life to those pups that have had all the doors closed on them. The transformation of these dogs under the rockstar rescue home is incredible. They allow dogs to become happy puppies again!

I am extremely grateful to RR's dedication and patience with all of their dogs, but especially the dog that I adopted and a dog that is currently in their care. The dog I adopted had been living on the streets for at least 2 years while the owner of RR watched and waited to earn his trust with food, water, and love. The boy in their care, Pretty Boy Floyd, was a dog sentenced to death at the county shelter when I saw his picture and shared it with the owner of RR. He was in horrible condition and aggressively snarled and bit at anyone brave enough to get near him. He had absolutely no chance of adoption and was scheduled to be euthanized. Without hesitation RR proceeded with the necessary steps to adopt him and he is thriving in their care. I've rescued other dogs, from other organizations, and I have never met a more dedicated and personally involved rescue owner as Jamie Harper.

A local phoenix dog rescue that truly cares - rockstar rescue is an amazing organization that is unmatched. Their professional staff has a passion for the welfare of the animals that they rescue. What sets them apart from others, is the time, energy, and care they take in providing a quality match for both the animals and the homes they go to; it has to be a perfect match. My family has adopted two dogs from this organization and their service has been amazing. These dogs got a 2nd chance at a quality life, while improving the quality of ours... Several months back I noticed a dog in need of care and a home on one of the euthanasia lists at county. I was able to get the dog pulled, but needed a place for him to stay for a day. Rockstar Rescue stepped right up to help and continued to network him for me. I have to say this foster was a total save and is now living in a wonderful forever home because of the help of Jamez the rescue's owner. I am now working with my second foster now with the continued help from this organization. The rescue facility is so clean and professionally run. I would recommend anyone looking for a dog check this place out. They work very hard to find the perfect fit for each dog and possible owner. Thanks so much for your help★☆★☆

We love Jamez and Rockstar Rescue! Is Jamez extremely passionate about what she does? You bet! She always has the best interests of the dogs she rescues at heart. We were lucky enough to adopt Axl Rose over a year and a half ago. They were amazingly throughout the process! We have watched Rockstar Rescue take in many dogs over this time that others have passed by. They are not afraid of taking in tough cases even though they know it will be hard to cover medical costs of some of the more extreme ones. They keep in touch with every family that takes in a Rockstar and have built a community for all of us and we talk to them on a regular basis. We are proud to have a Rockstar Legend in our home!

I love Rockstar! They were wonderful to me and my family. We took one of their dogs as a foster, and fell in love...when we couldn't afford the adoption fee, it was donated by others associated with Rockstar Rescue. We love them. They've followed up with any questions we've ever had, and even reached out to us when they saw a dog at the pound that looked very similar to the one we adopted to see if we'd lost him (we hadn't).

I can't begin to express my experience with Rockstar. They are not only compassionate caregivers of animals but also very professional. We are fostering a senior dog through Rockstar. Iam very impressed with the entire Rescue.

The volunteers that take care of these dogs are passionate about the dogs NOT people (because most are a**holes). There are several long time volunteers and all the ones that left and want to talk smack were obviously not there for the dogs but for their own personal reasons. As long as you do the work to take care of the dogs properly and KEEP THEM SAFE there is no problem. These babies deserve all the love in the world and that's what we do as volunteers, love them until they find their forever home. Thank you Rockstar Rescue for all the amazing things you do for the pets in our community that have been abused and forgotten. Thank you for not getting involved in all the 'human' drama and focusing on the fur babies.

I love Rockstar Rescue! The dogs in their care are extremely well taken care of. They are kenneled in an air-conditioned building, fed twice a day, receive medical care when needed, and endless amounts of love and attention from the volunteers! They also do a great deal for pets of the homeless, giving them things such as food, ID tags, and leashes. I have seen a lot of drama involved in many rescues, however, Rockstar does not operate like that! There is no showboating for attention that is sometimes common in the rescue arena, it is all about taking care of and finding forever homes for the dogs.

I stand by this rescue's motto, "People are assholes". I have seen this rescue suffer the slings and arrows as it were, of the wrath of mislead and misinformed people, yet every time the rescue marches onward keeping their stance of "Dogs come first" regardless.

After casually scanning the other reviews, and recognizing the people involved in the negative reviews, all I can say is that some people are absolutely insane.. But this rescue's ability to continue to help dogs in spite of insane humans is impeccable. Often, they are attacked for one reason or another. They are not a popular rescue in some circles in account of their not caring for the whims of some random human. They stand for what's right, the dogs health and comfort.

They aren't here to make friends with a bunch of people who only donate so they can brag to their friends about having donated a dollar, they're here to rescue dogs. Sure this can make them seem "harsh" to some, but there are too many rescues without the confidence and strength to really take this job seriously. When dogs LIVES are at stake, there's no reason to play nice with people who stand in the way.

I couldn't imagine a better rescue, with a better mentality. These people are doing it right. They're saving dogs lives for the dogs, not to make friends with humans.

This rescue is not only passionate about the role they play in animal care, they do a fantastic job of exceeding the needs of the animals they rescue. Never has Rockstar Rescue neglected the medical needs of their animals - always going above and beyond what nearly all other animal rescue organizations are willing to do for the health of their animals. Their facility is spotless - I've seen homes with no pets at all messier than the kennels at Rockstar! All of their dogs, whether they are still under the care of Rockstar Rescue or have found forever homes, are loved and cared for with the utmost compassion and love. If I were a stray dog, I would think I had died and gone to heaven if I was lucky enough to land in the arms of Rockstar Rescue's staff!!

The most unprofessional people ever, a gross misuse if said systems. Complete unwilling to communicate with any person at all and only people period. They are sick people.

I've had several dealings with this rescue. Although they are passionate about the animals they bring in, their lack of professionalism and poor attitude towards the people trying to help is WAY below par. They have consistently lost supporters and volunteers due to way they treat people. A great rescue starts with a solid foundation. There are many other amazing rescues out there that value, respect and appreciate the people that support them.....this is NOT one of them!

Rockstar Rescue is one of the best charities I have found. They take in stay dogs of all shapes and sizes and give them a good temporary home while actively trying to find the creatures a "forever home." We adopted one of their longest running Rockstars. His name is Thomas Dolby and he is probably around 6 years old now. Rockstar gave him a home for two years before we walked into the dog's life. At all of the state run shelters I know of he would have been put down.

Rockstar puts every dollar of money raised into helping the dogs. Between facility costs, food, medical bills for the dogs, and other misc supplies not a single dime is wasted. We were glad to give them our adoption fee.

Rock Star Rescue has exceeded my expectations! My children and I have attended a fund raiser as well as their open house, the staff is wonderful with the animals, the shelter is clean, well cared for and the animals all look very comfortable, healthy and happy!! I was amazed to see them help homeless animals as well, food, leashes and collars, much needed support to homeless individuals and their pets. We look forward to seeing all of the good they do and all of the amazing pets they save and find homes for! I am proud to share their Facebook posts and would love to volunteer with their organization!!!
