Programs: In 2016, rock the green reached hundreds of thousands in the community while successfully implementing its mission through the third festival. None of this would have been possible without the help of volunteers, sponsors, and donors. Rock the green estimates that over 10,000 total volunteer hours by more than 200 volunteers were donated to operate rock the green. Festival attendee feedback highlights: 88% were inspired by rock the greens mission 97% will likely attend rock the green in the future 92% very satisfied with near-zero waste efforts on-site 90% likely to practice near zero waste efforts in personal life 76% likely to buy sustainable products by sponsors of rock the green
near zero waste summary & metrics:the rtg near-zero waste benchmark exceeded previous results and topped other long-standing national environmentally-conscious events in the us:, with sponsors and attendees, we recycled & repurposed nearly all waste produced at the festival. Additional highlights include: 93% of the waste generated at the event was composted, recycled or repurposed. Each fan produced 1 ounce of waste!
