The cancer care ministry has always been ready, able and willing to come alongside those going through cancer and their families. I have recommended them to a number of families in need of their help.

I have been very ill since 2008 and had to have a football sized tumor, half my pancreas and my spleen removed on July 1st 2019. I experienced complications and in Feb of 2021 the Drs found more tumors on what is left of my pancreas and kidneys. I also struggle with diabetes and several other health issues with severe pain daily. I have not had any income since Jan and am not able to work due to my disabilities and SS will not help me. I also contracted COVID twice in Dec and then again in late May and actually almost died on June 6th while in the hospital. I have really been struggling and by the GRACE of GOD Cancer care (Tamela Reed) reached out and offered a much needed MIRACLE! I had been literally sitting on my bed crying praying for a much needed miracle. The gift that was given to me came at a much needed time and i am so GRATEFUL. To say Thank you could never be enough. God Bless this organization.
With my sincere regards and appreciation,
Lisa Martinez

It's my honor to make gift baskets for patients and hopefully bring a little cheer and hope. The resources and support provided to our patients at a time when its sorely needed is the purpose of Rock Cancer Care.

As a volunteer I am honored to work with an organization as devoted to the community as Rock Cancer C.A.R.E. It is truly humbling seeing how much it means to people suffering from cancer that an organization is willing to go the extra mile. Rock Cancer C.A.R.E. extends a lifeline to people when they have lost all hope, and are a pillar of the San Diego community. People with cancer have unique needs that are not always filled by medical professionals, family, or friends. Worse, the frightening experience of cancer is exacerbated by things like poverty or lack of a support system. As a volunteer, we are able to fill these gaps and instill hope where there was none. Little gestures like gifts, groceries, and drives to appointments mean the world to people.

Great organization with a heart and soul to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer. I was blessed to have served and be served by Tamela and her wonderful team of cancer care volunteers when my daughter was diagnosed with liver cancer at a young age. Her team sent us a care package along with so many prayers of love and encouragement it truly lifted my family during a time when we were low. When I was a volunteer, I was blessed to visit hospitals and homes of families affected by cancer to deliver food, toys, and prayers of support. This experience showed me the true power of hope and love and cancer care is in the forefront in delivering this to the community. What makes cancer care so intune with the cancer community is its founders Tamela and Major. This is a family who has battled cancer on and off again for many years and even when cancer was taking a toll on this beautiful family, they continued to serve others. You can not put into words the impact cancer care has made, the lives they have changed, and the peace they have brought to so many through their services. They are truly a blessing to us all in the cancer community. Thank you Rock Cancer Care for allowing me to be a part of that love to make a difference in the community and for making a difference in my life as a father of a cancer survivor it will be forever treasured.

It’s been a while since I found a nonprofit that actually cares and helps with patients mentally, physically, and spiritually. My aunt had breast cancer and passed away. Her and I were very close. I wish I was aware of Rock Cancer Care during her battle. Thankfully I found this organization; volunteering to make a patient’s painful time less stressful and more love filled is extremely fulfilling.

Rock Cancer Care has shown me that there is always more to do in your community. What I have observed through my grandma's fight with cancer is that there are limitless patient needs ,that most families do not have the ability to provide. Before coming across for cancer care, I had no idea there was an organization doing this work. If I would have known this when my grandma was fighting cancer, so many needs of hers would have been met, which puts a family at great ease.

All it took was the Rock Church “Do Something” campaign to get Me involved in this ministry. I stopped by after church service and walked up to the Rock Cancer Care booth signed up and I have been serving ever since. This ministry is so beautiful, the ministry strives to meet all needs as possible for their patients. Our volunteers are so caring and kind and give of their talents with such grace. The Leader Tamela has poured her heart and soul to make sure needs get met. She will go above and beyond to try and meet those needs. I have witnessed lives transformed by what the ministry has helped them in. The love of Jesus is truly seen.

I had been trying to decide on what ministry to join after completing my life class a few years ago. One Sunday when I was looking through the church bulletin, I came across the description of Rock Cancer C,A.R.E. It seem to speak to my heart. This ministry tries to meet various needs of their clients. I met with the founder of the ministry and decided to become a volunteer. Shortly after that, my husband was diagnosed with the same type of cancer as the founder of this ministry. That was divine intervention. As a medical professional, I’ve had many patients over the years with various types of cancer and seen them going through their own personal journeys. Since I have been involved with this ministry, I have worn many hats including volunteer, donor and support group facilitator. The Rock Cancer C.A.R.E ministry can only survive if we continue to have individuals who are able to give of their time, talents, donations or monies to keep it going. Please consider our mission and get involved.
Blessings
Anita

I am a cancer survivor. When I was going through treatment, Rock Cancer C.A.R.E was there to help me pull through. Knowing that someone cared and understood what I was going through at a vulnerable time, made such a difference in my life. I now volunteer with Rock Cancer C.A.R.E., to provide support to others battling cancer, to provide caring and understanding, and to pass on what I was given by this organization.

The group counseling was the best. I was able to talk to other cancer patients which helped me get thru my illness. The Christ centered focus in the group allowed me to feel that there was still hope.

My sister was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer Stage 4 in 2010 and passed away in 2013, and Rock Cancer Care provided food, encouragement and spiritual support to our sister and meant a lot to her and our family. I have witnessed the love and support they provide to families and go the extra mile to try and accommodate every need with the support of volunteers and community donations. It is my prayer that this vital organization would receive additional funding to support every cancer patient and family that seeks their support... God Bless! Andrea

When my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer, I became his primary caregiver. It was such a stressful time, and I was physically and emotionally exhausted. When my dad's church members came to our house to help clean our home, that act of kindness deeply moved me. I felt God's blessing through them. After my dad passed away, I wanted to have the same kind of impact on others. Rock Cancer C.A.R.E. was exactly what I was looking for; we share the love of Jesus Christ to ALL though our service to them. We have provided rides to chemo treatments, groceries, housecleaning, and babysitting. Every Monday night, there is an incredible support group that meets at the church. We have served everyone from all walks of life and beliefs.
