Programs: Infant, toddler, preschool, universal pre-kindergarten(upk), extended pre-kindergarten (epk), school age: rochester childfirst network offers child-centered programs that are aligned with pathways accreditation and new york state standards for curriculum that support cognitive, social and emotional, and physical development. Rcn provides a kid's club with before and after school care for children in the elementary grades. Homework coaching, community services, stem activities, arts integration, outdoor play, character building and support for a healthy lifestyle are all part of the program. Rcn's backyard adventure summer camp runs throughout the summer (9 or 10 weeks). (continued on schedule o. )in the past year, rcn served a total of 7 infants, 10 toddlers, 42 preschoolers, and 25 in epk and 77 upk children for a total of 161 children in the program. Another 60 children were served in rcn's school age classrooms. In addition to program revenue above, this program is supported by government contributions of $65,744.
family child care: the family child care (fcc) programs administered by rochester childfirst network offer support for in-home providers of child care through participation in the child and adult care food program (cacfp), which is a reimbursement for nutritious meals provided to children in their care. Rcn also supports in-home care providers through training and assistance in all areas of child development, health and safety and small business management. Rcn served an average of 130 providers of child care, impacting approximately 2,600 children in the provider homes throughout the community. In addition to program revenue above, this program is supported by government contributions of $1,298,347.
special education programs and services: the smile program offers educational support for children with special needs aged birth through five. The programs are approved by the new york state education department and department of health, providing special education and therapies as required by a child's ifsp or iep. Rcn served 140 children and their families in the special education program this past year.
rcn center city: rcn center city is our satellite location in the historic sibley building in downtown rochester. This site has the capacity for 35 children, aged 6 weeks through 36 months. This year, rcn center city served 35 children, and also participated in the summer leap program, designed to address summer learning loss in preschoolers.
