I was a volunteer with Riding Unlimited in the mid 1990’s. Caring for the horses, bring a side walker or a coach for Special Olympics and working with the rides were some of my most favorite memories of my time in Texas. Riding Unlimited will always have a place in my heart. I donated today in memory of Izod, the horse I worked with and became my friend. Pam Koss
The staff and volunteers at this non-profit go above and beyond to make it a successful organization. They are committed to their riders and always welcome with open arms those that are in need of therapeutic riding.
I came to Riding Unlimited in the spring of 2001 looking to volunteer and be around horses. It was the best decision I ever made. RU is more than just a therapeutic riding program it is a place where people, both special needs and able bodied people can go to enjoy themselves, to become a confident person within themself. No matter what disability they may have every rider and volunteer has learned that "you can do it" aren't just a few words. They CAN do it and can do so much more.
Riding Unlimited is SO much more than just a therapeutic riding program. Its a place where special things happen to special people..
I have been involved with Riding Unlimited, a therapeutic horseback riding facility for the disabled, for the past 10 years. I am still always amazed, and deeply moved, when I hear our riders' stories and see the differences the program has made in their lives. It is nothing short of magical. Not only are the physical achievements of the riders notable, the program provides a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence which many have never experienced. I am proud to be a part of Riding Unlimited, and of the positive impact our staff, volunteers, and donors have brought to the lives of our riders.
I am on the Board of Directors of Riding Unlimited and after 39 years of dedication to nonprofits, I can say that I've never seen, or been involved with, a more dedicated group of volunteers and staff. This Board is a working board, involved in every aspect of this wonderful therapeutic riding center. The passion comes directly from the staff and riders. Just last week a young rider held his reins in his own hands for the first time in his life! This was a monumental event and all involved from the parents to the instructors to the volunteers were in tears. Riding Unlimited provides so much more than just horseback riding for the physically and mentally challenged. It provides the connection to unlimited opportunities.
Riding Unlimited provides a wonderful program for people with disabilities. It is a place for them to go beyond their daily limits and do things they only thought were dreams. They enjoy themselves and create friendships with their instructors and volunteers. They connect with their therapy horse physically and mentally. They are so excited to come to therapeutic riding to be welcomed and have an activity to call their own with great lasting benefits.

I have been a volunteer at RU since February of 2013 and loved every minute of it/the work we do. The riders are always put first and the atmosphere is safe, friendly, and relaxing.
I have been at Riding Unlimited for over 18 months now and I have seen the good that is done at this center.
Our riders make progress in ways most of us take for granted. For instance, being able to dit up on their own because riding helps them gain control of their body. Or someone can't walk but because the horse actually has the the closest motion to the human walk, takes their first assisted steps. It's a piwerful thing to see, it doesn't happen over night, but with continuous ridkng, it can AND does.
The riders bond emotionally with our horses and the riders look forward to their ride every week just so they can ride "their" horse. The horses seem to know how they are needed and loved by their rider.
The instructers and volunteers all work together to make the riding experience a safe, enjoyable and learning time. All of the instructors are PATH Certified and Riding Unlimited is a Certified Premier Therapeutic Riding Center, one of only four Premiere Centers in NTX.
