Causes: Education, Literacy, Remedial Reading & Encouragement
Mission: Ride for reading's mission is to promote literacy and healthy living through the distribution of books via bicycle to children from low-income neighborhoods.
Programs: Book deliveries via bicycle - once per month we deliever books to children in title 1 schools. A representative of our organization talks to the children about the importance of literacy, helmet wearing, and a healthly lifestyle. Each child is able to choose 1 - 3 books to take to keep or pass along to a friend. Additionally, over 180 volunteer hours were used carrying out the book delivery process.
