Mission: The richard simon foundation for alzheimer's, inc. Is a non-profit foundation created by friends and family of richard simon who won most of life's challenges but lost his battle with alzheimer's. We are dedicated to assisting patients and their families affected by this terrible illness through education, emotional support, guidance, and referrals to agencies and professionals with the expertise needed to assist with every aspect of the disease and its impact on loved ones. We are eager for the day when scientific research will bring answers to many questions that today are unanswered regarding alzheimer's disease and when we might really speak of treatment and a cure.
Programs: To provide assistance to organizations that provide support, services and guidance to individuals and their families affected by alzheimer's and dementia.
case management, education and awareness: the rsfa provides interventions, support, guidance and referrals to individuals and their families affected by alzheimer's and dementia. The goal of the program is to offer services to enable seniors to remain at home by creating a safe environment through evaluations, home visits, customized saftey plans and care coordination with community resources. In addition, the rsfa offers education and guidance through support group meetings, and educational workshops. The support groups are intended for caregivers, loved ones and friends of those suffering from alzheimer's disease. The meetings are free and open to the local community. The educational workshops are targeted not only towards family members and caregivers, but also towards professionals in the community. The purpose of the program is to increase awareness about alzheimer's and dementia and to educate professionals.
