Mission: The trust was formed to provide funds from investment of trust assets to support research activities for agriculture.
Programs: During the year the trust provided grant funding to the california cooperative rice research foundation, inc. , #94-1230307, a 501(c)(5) organization, in the amount of $234,860 and provided grant funding to the university of california davis regents in the amount of $15,001. Additionally, the trust provides scholarships. These scholarships are given to full-time graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in the university of california or california state university systems with demonstrated interest in pursuing studies in rice improvement, protection, management or utilization. Additional eligibility requirements include u. S. Citizenship and a grade point average that qualifies for entrance to graduate school. Three scholarships were awarded this year.
