Nonprofit Overview

Mission: The mission of The Rhino Trust is to support efforts to protect and preserve the earth's five rhinoceros species within their native habitats. Seeds for the creation of a rhino advocacy, education, and fundraising organization were sown by the personal sacrifice of rhino conservationist Anna Merz. Inspired by the passion of this dedicated crusader, Gerry Ellis and author Karen Kane convinced Ms. Merz to lecture across North America on an initial fundraising tour. The result was a wave of public support that, in turn, became a mission to help save rhinos from extinction. The Rhino Trust was officially established in 1996 as a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
