RERI is fantastic! I took the fundamentals class with Charlene and she was so wonderful and patient with me. I have learned so much from RERI and am so grateful to have discovered them! :)

I really have to say they have been a godsend to our family! Coming from a zero base knowledge of reiki, we have been able to see firsthand its value and it has been quite an eye-opening and astonishing experience.

I learned about RERI through a Google search and began a series of healing sessions with Mei-Yin. I was looking to augment my therapy journey with Reiki, even though it seemed a bit woo-woo at first. From the beginning, Mei-Yin explained things very well, and really made an effort to make sure that I was comfortable and understood what was happening. After my first session, I immediately noticed a difference in how I was sleeping and in my energy levels. I've also become more in-touch with my body and my emotions, just as I had hoped. After a few sessions, Mei-Yin encouraged me to take a fundamentals class so that I could learn to heal myself. I am currently taking the fundamentals level class through RERI, and finding it a wonderful experience. Mei-Yin and Bill are excellent, attentive teachers - very supportive and encouraging. I can tell that they genuinely care about their students, and want to help people in general. I also really appreciate the small class size of the current course, since it allows for them to offer lots of individualized attention for each student. Class is also very flexible; they are willing to work with me so that I can fit learning Reiki into my schedule, despite a full-time job and a lot of other commitments. I have benefitted tremendously from my Reiki journey so far, and I would definitely recommend RERI as a source of guidance for others looking to begin their journeys.

While attending massage school a class breifly touched on Reiki. I was intrigued but I did not have a full appreciation for Reiki until I began classes at RERI. Along with teaching the fundamentals of Reiki the instructors have done an excellent job expressing the importance of Reiki within the different aspects of our lives. After completing Reiki I and Reiki II I believe I am able to use what I have learned to help me become my best self and enhance my life in so many different ways. I look forward to more classes and becoming an active part of a community that is dedicated to healing.

What I have learned through the programs at RERI has completely changed my life. I suffered from severe anxiety and panic attacks, and I have been equipped with healing techniques that have helped me manage and overcome those issues. I find myself having more peace in my life in general, and a new outlook on life through all that I've learned up through the Master's program at RERI. My friends and family have noticed a difference in me, too. I am changed for the better and I look forward to my Reiki self-healing work and my time spent during events with the Reiki group. Reiki is an energy healing and a wave of love! Reiki changed my life! This amazing energy healing helped me heal myself. In 2019, I started my journey with Reiki. I met my wonderful Reiki masters, Bill Coryer and Mei Yin. I took the fundamental level and advanced level program and I just finished the Master level program this week. I recommend Reiki Education and Research Institute to anyone who wants to learn and practice Reiki. I am grateful for been a part of this amazing journey! Bill is nothing short of an angel. I was skeptical of the whole idea of reiki at first and something universally told me to search for a reiki master and teacher. I have seen him for several sessions and I see major positive life changes. The energy is also clearly felt during the sessions, and he takes the time before and after for Q&A. What a beautiful, wise, soul and lightworker. I am excited to take the classes to learn the skill, and continue to connect with Bill.

Bill has been a godsend, he has done in-person as well as distance sessions, both being highly effective. These sessions help with pain and have relaxed her to the point of putting her to sleep every time. It is truly amazing to watch as she takes in the positive, healing energy.
She always seems to come away with some renewed strength.
So fortunate to have found the RERI when we were in desperate need. They are always there for us with undeniable caring and compassion. Now they are an important component of our "team".

Both Bill and MeiYin are awesome Reiki masters, teachers, and all around kind people. They always respond when needed and always bring such positive, lighthearted energy. I am so grateful to know the both of them and be a part of their Reiki classes.

I took my first class with RERI around 2012.  I've returned over the years to continue my Reiki journey, now finishing up my master class in 2020.

Classes - The classes are not fluffy, become a Reiki Master in a weekend type courses.  They are full of material and practices for you to try and find what works best for you.  Classes are spaced out to give students a chance to work with the material and come back to the class to share experiences and discuss.   Mei-Yin and Bill actively seek feedback for the courses from students and make updates and improvements.  

Community - RERI works to intentionally create a community offering options for everyone: an alumni facebook group to share requests for Reiki, a retreat (really an amazing experience), monthly Reiki coffee meet-ups, Reiki circles, a Reiki clinic for students to practice and the public to experience Reiki and more.   In this year of  Covid-19, the in-person events were cancelled, but they quickly created virtual retreats and circles.  I participated in the  World Healing Reiki meditation, a free weekly virtual Reiki gathering led by Bill and Mei-Yin and found it to be a very powerful and rewarding experience.  

I have often taken a break between classes and each time I have genuinely felt welcomed back into the community.  Individuals are accepted at whatever stage of their journey they are at and provided with encouragement and support to continue their journey.  

I would recommend RERI for anyone wanting to receive Reiki or take a Reiki class.  

I'm currently in the level one training, and I am very impressed with this organization. The content is thorough without being overwhelming, which I appreciate as someone who is just getting into Reiki. The instructor is excellent and takes time to explain concepts and make sure they are understood. If I have a question between classes, I always receive a prompt response. The supporting material is very helpful for me to review between classes. I will definitely continue my Reiki training with the Reiki Education and Research Institute, and I encourage anyone who is considering training to consider this option.

I began visiting RERI in January of 2017 for reiki healing sessions with Mei-Ying. RERI was my first introduction to reiki and it has been an amazing experience. After my initial 5 sessions, I felt totally balanced and my energy felt much lighter. After experiencing years of depression, I felt as though I was in touch with my true self. Whenever I'm feeling off balanced, I come back for a "tune-up" either through their monthly student clinics (pre-COVID) or personal sessions with Mei-Ying. I have done remote sessions which are just as powerful as in person sessions. Sessions with Mei-Ying are always relaxing and she creates an environment that is comfortable. The student sessions are excellent as well. Good energy circulating throughout. Reiki has improved my well-being tremendously and I will always incorporate reiki in my life.

I have been involved with RERI for about three years, first taking the Fundamentals class and most recently participating in the Masters class. I have learned the mechanics of performing Reiki as well as its philosophy and history. But I think what has had the greatest impact is how RERI presents its classes. The Fundamentals course, for example, was eight sessions long; between sessions students have a couple of weeks to review, practice and journal their experiences. This allows for more focused questions and encourages more in-depth discussion during the next session. You learn as an individual, but also from the experiences and insights of your fellow students.

I have also had a number of Reiki sessions both remotely (I live out of state) and in person (when visiting NC) through RERI. These have been a key part of my learning and growth. I have found the annual retreats to be life-changing. For me, RERI's Reiki programs have become an invaluable spiritual touchstone.

I am not an expert and still have a lot to learn, which I will do, in part, through continued involvement as a client, student and volunteer (a role which I pursued and has been very important to me). Bill and Mei Yin are the heart, the greater RERI community is beautiful and hopefully all will forever be part of my life.

RERI has empowered me on my journey of self healing. I started with Reiki treatments with Mei Yin and eventually became a student. I feel so positive and grounded. This is a complete 180 from where I started. I’m so grateful for RERI!

My life completely changed when I found RERI. I started just receiving sessions and saw how beneficial it was to my mind and spirit --everything shifted for the better. My Son Ethan has been receiving weekly Reiki Sessions from Bill for over Three years now.
He has autism, epilepsy and severe digestive issues.
After his session he is calmer and sleeps better, his constipation and acid reflux will improve.
Today he is seizure free has no complaints of acid reflux or constipation.
Also his communication has greatly improved.

I had never heard of Reiki, but my wife saw an ad for an Open House at RERI. We attended the Open House and something immediately clicked for me to want to find out about and experience more of Reiki. Through the in depth and experiential curriculum provided by RERI, I learned the fundamentals of Reiki and continued through their expert teaching to the Master level. The Reiki Education and Research Institute has grown to become a very important part of my life. I started by taking a few classes here and there and receiving some sessions. I am a physician and going through my mid life discovery looking for the bigger meaning of life. I am a Christian and this actually gave me extra tools to deepen my spiritual connection. I will likely be friends with Bill and Mei Yin for a long time and love the people I have met through the classes. I went through reiki 1, 2 and the advanced practitioner levels and really enjoyed that time.

Reiki Education And Research Institute (RERI) encourages their students to learn about what Reiki is and how it can be incorporated into their daily lives through classroom discussions, hands-on experiences, retreats, community clinics, Reiki Grounds, Intention Circle, and Drum Circle activities. Volunteering within RERI is encouraged to help promote a positive Sense of Community/Family within the organization.

This journey through Reiki is a spiritual one and like most things spiritually oriented, the answers that we seek are not so easily obtained while the work required can seem disproportionate. However, if we approach this process with openness and minimize the need to be instantly gratified, what will be discovered is a truly marvelous quest filled with little treasures along the way bespake of hope. Hope for what, you may be thinking? Hope for a better way to live and to love, to view yourself in a new light and to see the world for all its mystical glory. At least, that what it has done and continues to do for me...

The day I walked into Reiki Education & Reserach Institute is the day my life altered in an unimaginable way. The only other more profound experience was when I married my bride. It is THAT impactful and telling in the age we find ourselves in. The founders, Bill and Mei Yin, have dedicated more than a decade to the organization, to Reiki and the legitimacy that it deserve. To say that it is prevalent in their teaching and conduct is an oversimplification. You must live it to understand it and I will tell you that the curriculum is the best and most comprehensive I have encountered.

Aside from the teaching of Reiki, they also offer a clinic ($39/student & $80/professional) for students to practice their craft to which they collect the data via a heart monitor to quantify the empirical benefits of Reiki and modern living. As you may have surmised, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this organization. 2014 Student

Advanced Reiki Class # 2: During class Bill calls student a “trouble-maker”. Student emails Bill asks not to be called names. This request falls on deaf ears.

Class # 3: During class Bill called same student “wicked”. Student in disbelief at the lack of ethics.

Class # 4: Same student recognizes Bill’s need for accurate information regarding military PTSD. Bill thinks PTSD is ego. Student very gently informed him that PTSD is NOT ego, but an imbalance in the Limbic system. Bill has an emotional and physical reaction (body does not lie) red faced, arms making large movements, voice angry and trembling … tries to convince student he knows what he’s talking about with an angry tone. Student thinks, “Hmmm ego? Bill is not ready to work with military trauma. He may push them to suicide. I cannot in good conscious build an alliance with this.”

Student’s husband, also a student in the class and a witness to all occurrences, is not happy with the way Bill has been treating his wife.

Conference after Class #4: After this class Bill requests conference with student. He reveals he has training in Primal Therapy. He brags in being able to push people’s buttons.

Student is informed by Mei Yin not to ask questions during class. Student thinks, “Really? $600 each?” Mei Yin explains it takes too much time. Bill’s method for answering questions is to say, “The answer is inside you. What do you think?” He then continues with time-consuming questioning to the point of fatigue in order to bring student to the answer. This is an incredibly ineffective way to teach. It does not foster empowerment or confidence in the student, quite the opposite. Why not simply provide the answer and say, “you felt this correctly” thus saving time and building confidence?

During this same conversation after Class # 4, the student asks Bill, “If you had all the money you needed what you want to do with RERI?” Bill answers, “Find more money.” The goal is not education or research.

The two above students opted to terminate learning with RERI and requested a prorated refund for the remaining classes not taken. RERI emailed that they are a non-profit organization and DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS.

Additionally:
Students are pressured to volunteer for the organization.
Classes consist of a lot of talk with very little experiential training.
Student's needs are not placed first.
