Mission: To assist pregnant women during their pregnancy to insure a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby regardless of age, race, or religion. To promote a healthy lifestyle through education and support and to reduce the number of teen pregnancies and sti transmissions.
Programs: Client support programs: weekly classes to educate and support pregnant women and couples to promote a healthy pregancy and birth. Classes are twice weekly in which they learn how to take care of themselves and their baby. 16 women participated in the classes in 2017 for a total of 249 classes attended. Promote a healthy lifestyle through education on the risks involved when sexually active. The intended outcome is to reduce the number of teen pregancies and the number of sti and hiv cases. 559 pregnancy tests were performed in 2017 and 261 ultrasounds.
ged classes: the purpose is to help men and women get their ged in order to either continue their education or get a better paying job. We have partnered with a local college to provide the teachers. 20 students participated in the classes in 2017 for a total of 125 classes attended.
