Red Sky Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer no-kill animal rescue with one primary purpose – to help abandoned and homeless animals with a gentle loving touch, kind words, shelter, health care and food. We strive to reduce the number of homeless, unwanted and uncared for animals in Jackson County. Red Sky Rescue, Inc. will work to achieve this purpose by focusing on three main objectives: place adoptable animals in permanent homes; educate the public of the need for to spay and neuter their pets; and promote awareness of the mission of Red Sky Rescue, Inc.
Programs: On a monthly basis, we put pictures of dogs that are available for adoption up onto a gallery where New England members of Canine Express can view and select those that they feel can be placed into permanent homes. Once selections are made, we go into high gear to prepare the animals for transport. Crates are cleaned and labeled; the dogs are prepped with the applicable meds and veterinary visits; and all the paperwork is gathered and completed. On the day of transport, we take our dogs (anywhere from 10 to 21) to the designated meeting spot. When the vans arrive, we load the animals and say goodbye. We usually hear from the humane society or the adoptive families on how the dogs have adapted.
