Red Dog foundation is an amazing foundation. My family has been traveling to Sloan-kettering for 5 years now. Once My son was off treatment we stopped getting help from all foundations but Red dog for traveling. Financially it has been a strain on us but we have no other choice but to get our son to his Dr. Parking in NYC is crazy. you can't ever find a parking spot on the street. You are forced to park in the garages. It cost so much to park your vehicle there. Parking is our biggest expense. The red dog foundation has helped us financially so much.
Red Dog Foundation has been terrific. They are quick to support, no questions asked. The expenses for battling cancer can mount very quickly, so having one less financial burden is a major relief.
Hi my name is Cathy but more importantly my daughter's name is Jillian. She had AML Leukemia. Over her almost 4 year battle, my son donated his bone marrow twice and I my kidney to help save her life. What a difficult time for me being a single mom and having to quit my job so I can be with my Jillian daily to assist and help her as well as sleep over every other night (taking turns with her father). Parking and tolls quickly adds up and for me not working it was draining. I am so grateful to Red Dog Foundation for giving me the assistance I needed at such a difficult time. My daughter since passed March of 2013. I am struggling to cope with this but again having caring organizations such as this is truly a blessing. Thank you so much.

Thank you for the review Cathy. We are extremely sorry to hear about Jillian and will keep her and your family in our thoughts and prayers. We wish we could have supported you more financially,
Red dog foundation is amazing. My 7 year old daughter just completed 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy at New York prebyterian to combat a rare condition in children known as glioblastoma. It was a grueling and expensive journey. But thanks to red dog for reimbursing us for the parking expenses. They came through for my family when we really needed them. God bless the people at red dog. Alex contreras.
I HAVE BEEN A DONOR SINCE DAY ONE. RALPH WAS MY NEPHEW, WHO WAS WITH US A VERY SHORT TIME. HIS BROTHER MICHAEL, PROMISED THAT RALPH'S LEGACY WILL CONTINUE, THEFORE HE ORGANIZED THE RED DOG FOUNDATION. I HAVE READ ALL THOSE STORIES OF THE FAMILIES HE HAS HELPED. THEY ARE SO APPRECIATIVE OF WHAT RED DOG HAS DONE FOR THEM. I WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE TO DONATE TO THE FOUNDATION, BECAUSE OF ALL THE HELP THEY GIVE TO THESE FAMILIES.

Red Dog Foundation is a great organization that has directly impacted families who have a child with cancer. By offering funds to pay for parking at NYC hospitals, a financial burden is lifted off of these families during a very difficult time. I went to their gala this month and it was so much fun; I will gladly support Red Dog in the future.
The Red Dog Fund is an amazing non profit organization. They bring people together to raise money for a great cause. They took a tragic event and turned it into an amazing celebration of a loved ones memory and are helping alot of people in need in the process. I have attended every event since the organization has been created and every one of them was a hit. The amount of dedication from the Califano family is heartwarming and really gives people a sense of the passion they have to keep this organization alive. I look forward to many years of fun filled events with the Red Dog Fund.
The Red Dog Fund is an amazing organization that has turned a tragedy into something positive. I have enjoyed all of the events that I have attended and I always look forward to going to the next one! The Red Dog Fund is an inspiration and it brings hope to families in need.
I had a great time at the Wicked Wolf for the KAROKE 4 CANCER event. I brought some friends, met some old friends and made new friends. Fun was definitely had by all! This should be an annual event..Great job!
Attended the Karaoke for Cancer event at the Wicked Wolf and it was fantastic! The energy level in the bar was only matched by the enthusiasm of the people attending this event. And kudos to the Califano family for organizing another great event to raise money for this wonderful cause . Congratulations to all those folks who participated -- some great singing, some really awful singing, which I'm sure was on purpose to win the prize for "worst" performance ;-) When is the next event? Sign me up!
A well put together function. Food was excellent music was was pumping people dancing all night long. I know my brother was looking down on us very proud. Good job Mike can't wait till next years Gala! Thank you to all who attended .

The Red Dog Fund is a non-profit organization that is truly working hard for a great cause. We held our first annual Gala event last night and it was very successful. Those that attended had a fantastic time and can't wait until next year's Gala Event, where our goal will always be to get bigger and better!

Being a member of the Califano family I have seen first hand what they had to endure day after day for seven years. During those years a marriage took place, grandchildren were born, grandparents were lost an emotional roller coaster ride for all because leukemia was still lurking in the background. But through it all Ralph stood strong and happy with the support of his family and friends and never looked back, always ahead.
So it is with great love that this organization was formed to keep his smiling memory alive and give help and hope to other experiencing the same difficulties.
I am very proud of this family and will encourage all to do whatever to make their dream a reality.
The foundation has already sponsored two successful fundraisers, a fishing trip and bar crawl, and a gala is planed for Sept. Their work is continuous in order to raise funds for the cost of parking in NYC hospitals and I am sure their efforts will be rewarded.
For those who know someone who has cancer or who has died of cancer, it is a long and strenuous struggle. It is difficult for the cancer patient and it is also dificult for their families and close friends. There are doctor visits, clinic visits, lab tests, radiation treatment fees, drug costs, and surgery fees just to name a few. This organization, Red Dog Foundation, is in honor of Ralphie. His family were aware of the expenses that they would incur, but one expense definitely stood out: hospital parking fees. Who knew that this fee could add up to over hundreds of dollars? The Red Dog understands that their friends, families and supporters could afford at least a dollar, and yet that dollar would make such a dramatic impact. It is organizations like the Red Dog that will impact us for years to come.
Having been in the situation where you are visiting a loved one daily in a NY facility for cancer treatments, I know how important this foundation is. It may not seem like much, but when you visit daily and the parking costs anywhere from $20 - $40 daily, it adds up and fast! When you factor in the expenses already associated with any type of cancer treatment, this is one additional expense that slowly and consistently drains an already depleting budget. Not visiting is NOT an option either. Any financial assistance is welcome when you deal with a cancer patient. Anyone who has "been there" understands this well. What the Red Dog Foundation is doing is worthwhile, appreciated and very much needed!
We met the Califano family at the hospital and Ralph and my son started corresponding. Ralph was older and so my son looked up to him. We would always look for Ralph on clinic days. We were so very sad when we heard of his passing. We go to Sloan just once a month now, thank goodness but were there for long hospital stays and several times a week. The costs for all of this kind of medical care is horrendous and you have to remember that often times the parents cannot work. They have a new job. I am a single mom and this is what I did. It is so nice to see this foundation and the love coming from it. We have not made any fundraisers as my son is still recovering but we hope to get to one soon!! Thanks to all those that donate from those of us experiencing this awful disease. God Bless and Ralph keeps smiling down on us all!
We are in awe of the strength, love, and courage it takes to support a loved one who is sick. It is even more amazing when that same family loses their loved one and decides to help those who are struggling with the very same issues. Visiting a family member should not be a luxury only some people can afford. The Red Dog Foundation is working hard to ensure that visiting a family member at Memorial Sloan Kettering is affordable. The Califano Family has inspired us to believe that you can take tragedy and make something truly remarkable happen. By doing so, they have kept Ralph’s spirit alive forever.
The Red Dog Fund is a wonderful organization that truly serves a great purpose. The cost of parking builds up quickly, especially when a family is making daily visits and the patient is a long term stay. With this organization, families will have one less worry and will be able to concentrate more on their child's health.
In the short time that I have known the Califano family through Ralph, I can truly say that they are a wonderful and caring group of people that have experienced these troubles first hand, which makes this organization even more promising. I believe that as time goes on this organization will help tons of families that face this hardship.
Good job guys :-)
This organization has been created after living the most horrific nightmare for seven years. Our brother, who recently passed away from leukemia at the age of 24 was consistently treated at two different NYC hospitals. My parents, who were valiantly by his bedside, including two long stays of 40 days or more during his bone marrow transplant, had to consistently worry about where to park and how much it would cost. The average lot in NYC would cost about $35 a day, which ultimately cost my parent thousands of dollars over the course of his treatment. While spending time in these hospitals, this was a valid concern for all parents and it became clear that something had to be created to help these families. When my brother passed, we created the Red Dog Foundation! In just four short months, we were able to collect over $14,000 and continue to establish great supporters along the way. Please consider helping us by visiting www.reddogfund.org.
so The RED DOG FUND is Amazing not just because my cuz started it but that helps... Also we are helping those who are in need and parking in the city for those who go into the city you know the deal!!! we are helping those who have cancer and those love ones who want to visit!! As we all My lil Cuz Ralph passed away this year and I wish I was there every day by his side!!! we are not rich and didn't have this opportunity to do so because of work and paying for parking, why not help those who are less fortunate and donate a $1 or more and help these children please!!!!
Let me tell you a little about the Red Dog Foundation. The Red Dog Foundation was founded by Michael and Frank Califano, they are my nephews. There brother Ralph passed away from Leukemia at age 24. Michael felt that this disease should not go unnoticed so he wanted to do something in memory of his brother and families who have to deal with the horrific disease. This is a unique fund... it helps families to pay parking fees at NYC hospitals... which can easily add up to $50 a day or more, while you child is at the hospital. All the proceeds will go to various families in need of this and also buying gifts at the holiday seasons for the childred who are strcken with cancer. Let's find a few dollars to help out in this wonderful organzation.
The Red Dog Foundation is as amazing as the people behind it. The Califano family has taken such a difficult time in their lives and created a wonderful and selfless foundation, in honor of an amazing person.
They have and will continue to have events that cater to all types of interests and have been hugely successful thus far. There is a Facebook page as well as monthly newsletters that keep me informed about the foundation.
I am proud to wear my Red Dog bracelet everyday and to drive around with a Red Dog magnet on my car.
If you are looking for a foundation to donate to then this is the one!
