Absolutely love Red Clay Ranch Rescue! The loving souls who run this equine rescue provide horse heaven for the lucky horses that end up with them. The rescue work has given new life to horses coming from abusive environments. I have witnessed the love, the care, the concern for each horse that lives in this magical place.

RCR...Dedicated hearts and hands in motion to stand strongly for these gorgeous, lovable, loyal beauties that The Lord was so kind to honor our human existence with. Providing the safe harbor that so many horses have never known. The trailer that carries them from their life of unthinkable neglect, abandonment, hunger, physical, emotional abuse and loneliness, is actually a chariot in disguise. For at RCR these magical creatures step out to find everything they deserve, every kindness most have never known. Our Lord designates us all as caretakers, responsible for the creatures He created to serve us. At RCR these heartfelt people live out this assignment 24-7. They are such a blessing in their mission to save and provide for these lovely and helpless beauties. We all have many lessons to learn, no matter of age. Many to learn from RCR's example. Blessings

I have been following RCR for a while now. And see the changes in the horses that have been starved...neglected and abused. Lee and her husband Phil and the volunteers do amazing work transforming these lost souls...and giving them their lives back..! They find them new loving forever homes...and for those they can't...they stay with RCR and are cared for and loved until the end of their days..! The world needs more compassionate caring people like those at RCR who give tirelessly of themselves for the good of these neglected horses who's lives they saved..! We who follow this site daily...look forward to seeing the improvements in each and every horse...that we have come to love. We thank God everyday for this amazing organization..!

My horse Snowman has been missing for 5 years! Will I ever find my precious boy? I searched and searched my heart broken. Until one day my friend Sonja sent me a photo from Facebook asking a fateful question, could this be your boy? With trepidation I looked at the photo expecting another disappointment - I could not have been more wrong! After a 5 year search my boy had been found!!! A miracle! I made arrangements to go see him to confirm his identity and will never forget the moment I spied his silhouette on the hill top - my boy my heart was finally found. When I got close I realized his desperate situation, covered in hundreds of burs, both eyes horribly infected and underweight. My heart broke but I deemed right there on the spot no matter my health no matter what my boy was coming home. I got him home the next day and spent the next month cleaning him up, treating his eyes, fattening him up and loving him back to health. I realized my physical limitations and my health issues and that horses are heard animals not meant to be alone so I went about finding him sanctuary. Then our second miracle occurred RCR answered our prayers and agreed to provide Snowman a piece of heaven to the end of his days. Snow and I both have been blessed by the rescue and I give what I can - can’t you?

In 2012 I had the opportunity to rescue a horse from a kill lot I had the funds to purchase a horse however I did not have a place to keep it so I let the person who was overseeing the rescue attempt of 90 horses that I would gladly purchase a horse if she could find somewhere for it to go and unbeknownst to me the owner of Red Clay had offered to take
horses that were rescued with nowhere to go. So keep in mind this was all being done over Facebook, I didn't know the person who was trying to save the horses and I had never seen any of the horses but I knew it was something I needed to. So sight unseen I sent my money and purchased a horse. After the horse was rescued I asked where it would be going and to speak to the owner of the rescue to make sure everything was on the up-and-up. I was given Lee's phone number and from the moment I heard her voice I knew I had met an angel and that call began my eternal love for Red Clay. I was given the opportunity to visit the ranch and to meet the horse that I had rescued and I fell in love, I fell in love with the ranch I fell in love with Lee, Phil, their dogs, cats and all the horses. Red Clay has not only been a safe haven for horses, goats and chickens it has been a safe haven for me as well. The love and care that is extended to these wonderful creatures is beyond measure. I have had the opportunity to see total heartache and despair in these magnificent creatures when they arrive and then within a few months of being at RCR they blossom mentally physically and spiritually and it's all due to the love, care and dedication of the people at Red Clay Ranch. There is no better place on this Earth then Red Clay Ranch.

Lee and Phil run one of the best and most caring horse rescues in the country. They treat each horse like royalty and care for them like everyone else cares for a child. If a horse in their care needs anything...and I mean anything, small or large...he gets it. This rescue is clean and inviting, with rolling well-cared-for pastures and ponds, and they are constantly doing things to improve the welfare of their furbabies, whether it be new fencing, new pastures, or whatever else is needed. Their patience and love is the stuff legends are made of! When I die, I want to come back as a horse who lives at Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue & Sanctuary!

With a lifetime of experience in the equine industry, we have come to know that passion and commitment for the best well-being of the horse is what makes for a successful endeavor in any area of the equine community. That is particularly so, when it comes to horses that require attention, often for which there is no financial reward or pay back. It has to be a labor of love, or the endeavor falters. Phil and Lee do NOT have a passing fancy to be involved with horses. We have never met two more committed individuals who want to contribute to the equine industry by providing rescue, rehabilitation, re-homing, and retirement to these wonderful creatures. Their facilities are superb, as is their care. We are button-busting proud to know them, and to be associated with them in any way. My husband & I run the feed store in Lyerly, Ga. Red Clay is one of our biggest customers. They feed the horses high quality feed & they hold back nothing when it comes to caring for these animals. It's amazing to see the before & after photos & see what this wonderful rescue is doing. Lee, Phil, Donna & the volunteers truly have a heart for helping animals.

You only have to listen to the stories of owners, Lee and Phil Rast, to know that these majestic horses are truly loved. The care of these beautiful creatures is individualized to the specific need(s) of each one.

The ranch is beautifully maintained with the horses as a magnificent backdrop to the acreage. The horse rescue world is fortunate to have RCR as a model facility providing forever homes for such animals.

When I visited Red Clay Ranch , their mission statement was clearly in operation. The Rasts, owners and founders of RCR take their jobs seriously by demonstrating their passion in providing a safe haven for horses in need. What a lovely sanctuary for these precious animals. It is important for me as a donor and Board Member to know that 100% of my contributions are used wisely in directly benefiting the horses. I feel blessed by this well run organization to take an active role.

RCR took in my childhood horse who was in dire need of a new home. He had a lot of special needs, and he required a home with a high level of experience and standard of care. Having been in the performance horse industry for 2 decades, I can personally say that RCR not only meets but exceeds all standards when it comes to the environment and care of their horses. I visited RCR prior to his arrival, and I was astounded by the level of attention to detail to each individual animal's specific needs. With passion, skill, and professionalism, they keep their eyes closely on each horse- assessing its weight, gate, personality, habits, health, etc. I could not imagine a group of people or facility more qualified for their cause.

I am a volunteer Board Member for RCR and absolutely LOVE going to the ranch. Lee and Phil Rast are the CEOs and they dedicate every living breath to the horses they care for. Donna and Hensleigh are paid employees that feed, water and maintain the grounds. There are 162 acres of cross fenced pastures for the 90+ horses to live their lives fancy free. Some are brought to the ranch to live out their final years due to illness, lameness, blindness or just being “useless” to their previous owners. The Rast’s are also angels that provide emergency shelter for horses that are neglected, abused, malnourished, etc. The horses receive amazing Veternarian and Ferrier care. The staff at RCR provide incredible TLC to each horse...there is no place better. They are always in need of funding and volunteer manpower.
