Mission: Since 1986, RNT has been working with prospective teachers, policymakers, the media, partner organizations, and school districts nationwide to research solutions to America's teacher shortage. Over this decade, the country will need to hire more than 2 million teachers, and urban areas traditionally experiencing shortages are in particular distress. Via publications, conferences, public service campaigns, studies, polls, and technical assistance work, Recruiting New Teachers has become an information clearinghouse for those individuals interesting in becoming teachers, whether they are mid-career changers, recent college graduates, or high school students. RNT has also worked with school districts and advertising campaigns to facilitate recruitment efforts in California and other states. RNT's mission is simple: ensuring that every child in America has a qualified teacher in their classroom.
