Mission: Rebel Rescue is committed to educating the public about the benefits of responsible bully breed ownership. We aim to encourage responsible ownership of bully breed dogs, rescue bully breed dogs in need, rehabilitate mistreated bullies, and re-home them in committed and loving forever homes. Rebel Rescue - Providing Animals With Sanctuary.
Results: At the time of this update, Rebel Rescue has saved 700 dogs between late 2015, when we opened, and February 1st, 2019. We have also worked with 20 Service Dog Teams for Military and Veteran personnel.
Target demographics: Rehabilitate and rehome bully breed dogs while promoting responsible pet care practice, proper socialization, and community pet wellness .
Direct beneficiaries per year: Last year we directly helped 9 animal shelters in South Texas, rescued and vaccinated 309 dogs, adopted out 182 fully vetted dogs, microchipped 469 animals, and worked with 3 Service Dog teams.
Geographic areas served: We work in South Texas to rescue abandoned animals and advocate for responsible pet ownership.
Programs: Rebel Rescue accomplishes our mission through service dog training for military; free adoptions for Fire, Police, and EMS professionals; responsible ownership and awareness presentations to students; community enrichment programs to help animals; pet and wellness stations to provide vaccinations, microchipping, pet pantry items, and basic training.
