Causes: Food
Mission: Connects producers, consumers, businesses, and organizations to grow a healthful, just, and sustainable local food system in southern wisconsin. We envision sustainable, local food on every plate.
Programs: Worked with madison metropolitan school district and other school districts in wisconsin to provide students with food and nutrition educational programs and greater access to fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables through the lunch program and classroom snacks
worked to connect local farmers with chefs and buyers from restaurants and institutions and to promote support of those restaurants that "buy fresh buy local". Produced communication tools (newsletters, website outreach, facebook, brochures, etc) to communicate to the public andparticipated in various regional efforts toward building a stronger regional food system. Participated in communitycollaborative efforts to further reap's mission.
