Causes: Philanthropy, Private Independent Foundations
Mission: At Real World Scholars, our mission is to provide young people with opportunities to connect their work to their community through real-world entrepreneurship and authentic learning experiences. We believe the entrepreneurial learning process – combined with core and STEM subjects – develops 21st-century skills, prepares students with career readiness skill sets, and awakens community involvement.
Results: Since 2014, the EdCorps platform has supported over 48k students using their strengths and ideas to impact the world around them.
Target demographics: Teachers, Students, Schools, and Communities
Direct beneficiaries per year: 4000 students in 71 classrooms across the nation, primarily with communities in Pittsburgh and San Diego.
Geographic areas served: K-12 education
Programs: The EdCorps platform is an e-commerce based experiential learning opportunity for students to gain the entrepreneurial mindset and career skillsets needed for career readiness.
