Mission: To foster literacy in rutherford county
Programs: Adult literacy addresses the basis literacy needs of adults in rutherford county who want to develop their skills for personal and/or career development. It provides one-on-on tutoring for adults to meet individual goals.
community read/one book challenges the citizens of rutherford county to come together and read a selected book.
family literacy program for pre-school elementary children and their parents to teach the importance of reading together and provide literacy support and resources.
literacy day kicked off 2014-2015 school year with literacy games, school supplies, books, coats, food and community services available to all.
read to bee annual championship spelling bee for 6th grade students in rutherford county. Twenty-one spellers competed.
risd/reading rallies program that encourages adults, parents, and children to read.
unplug and read engages adults, businesses, parents, and children in the joys of reading and to educate the community on the importance of reading.
program orientation programs to orientate volunteers for all the programs offered.
