My name is Juma Tom, 27 years of age Lanya County, Central Equatorial State, Pojulu by tribe (Bari speakers). I am raised by a single mother since 1996 up to date without my father though he is alive. Indeed, life can be mysterious especially when you are born in a family with religious differences mother being a Christian and father Muslim who married over 6 wives with many children. My mother was not willing to become a Muslim as a result my father left (abundant) her. Being uneducated, she could barely raise money for our basic needs resulting to me at the age of 12 years to start laying bricks, cleaning compounds in order to raised money for our living. My mother taught me the word of God I became saved (I gave my life to Christ), I started serving God at the age of 8 years in the Sunday school class, later joined the youth ministries where I was able to go for evangelism (outreaches) in remote villages, attend conferences while serving God. I was doing all kind of work in the name of going to school, my mother did not go to school due to the 21 years civil war in Sudan during the liberation struggle but I felt I cannot missed out the chance of reaching the university. Through many challenges God made me finish my degree in the university last year (2019). After my completion some chances of work showed up including RMC Ministries I chose RMC ministries because I believe God want me to serve Him and tell people what He can do, I became a volunteer in august 2020 indeed God has been faithful to me seeing the difficult experiences in my life, serving Him and reaching people for Him is what I treasure. Am passionate about giving back to the people as well as working towards their well-being. To see a community where people live in love and coexist despite their differences and that equal opportunities are given to every person which RMC ministries is doing in South Sudan. With the ministry, we make sure, students in high schools are taught the word of God through the bible education club, offer guidance and counseling for students and these has brought behavioral change and also winning souls to Christ thanks to RMC ministries for lightening a candle in the life of young people and this country South Sudan.
