Causes: Health, Home Health Care
Mission: To provide comfort, care and meaning for patients who are at the end-of-life and support for their family and friends. Services are provided regardless of age, income, religion, ethnicity and/or cultural background. Care is provided to patients who meet certain criteria under the organization's community support policy without charge or at amounts less than established rates. This discount is based upon financial information obtained from the patient at the times they enroll in the program or with subsequent changes to their financial circumstances. Because the organization does not pursue collection of amounts determined to qualify as community support, they are not reported as revenue.
Programs: Hospice care: rainbow hospice care offers comprehensive end-of-life care to patients and familes. This expert care is provided by a team of professionals including nurses, certified nursing assistants, social workers, chaplains, grief counselors, physicians, pharmacists and volunteers. Our staff and volunteers focus on each patient's individual needs with an emphasis on providing comfort and dignity during this last part of their life's journey. Families are supported with their care giving of the patient and grief support is provided for a minimum of thirteen months following the patient's passing. 34,158 days of care were provided to 511 patients during 2014. Approximately $25,000 of services were provided at a discounted cost or no cost to patients meeting our charitable care guidelines. Members of the local community volunteered 10,985 hours to the organization during the year.
