I have volunteered with Purr Paws rescue. They are a great organization. They rescue and rehabilitate many cats and kittens. One of their recent rescues was a cat named Cupid. He was named that because he was shot with an arrow, which was still sticking in him when he entered the city shelter. Purr Paws volunteers stepped forward and got this kitty what he needed. They found a great home for him, and now he gets all of the love he deserves. This group goes above and beyond, and is definitely a worthy rescue group and charity.

Purr Paws Rescue has the reputation of quick response when there is a need to be met. Volunteers recently pulled 15 cats from Galveston County Shelter to make room for the Whiskerville cats. Whiskerville has been under criminal investigation for the neglect of the cats that resided there. Another for instance is Cupid, the orange tabby with the arrow through it's body. It had been wandering for 3 days when the residents finally called BARC and they finally captured the cat. BARC put a plea out to rescue groups and Purr Paws responded quickly. One of the Volunteers took it to a vet's office and surgery was performed. Cupid is doing great and recovering at his foster mom.s home. Purr Paws is a non-profit, no-kill 501.3C organization and promoted the education of the humane treatment for cats. We do rescue and adoptions. Since there is no shelter, we care for these precious animals in our homes. We adopt out our cats at a local PetSmart.
