Causes: Education, Parent & Teacher Groups
Mission: Charlotte wood middle school pta is dedicated to the continuous improvement of our children's education through the guidelines established by the california pta. We strive to keep parents informed about vital state and federal education issues, assist parents in developing the tools and skills of effective education advocacy, encourage individual and collective participation in the education process, and vigorously advocate on issues that are of concern to the local school community.
Programs: Enrichment/assemblies---------------------assemblies held throughout the year provided educational enrichment for all students attending los cerros middle school. Additional enrichment funds supplemented nearly all grade levels with special programs, materials and supplies outside the regular scope of grade requirements. Pta also supported teachers by enabling them to purchase class supplies and books to supplement school resources. Additionally, pta supported and organized activities for red ribbon week, the anti-drug program and provided funds for graduation ceremonies.
classrooms/after school activities----------------------------------the pta supplements various classroom (including teacher expenses) and student activities (including the 8th grade end-of-year celebration) at the school which enables students to participants in a greater variety of programs. The pta also provides scholarships and allocates reserves for special projects.
library and technology----------------------the pta supports library and technology programs at the school by purchasing additional materials. Books, periodicals, computers and software are utilized by various students at all grade levels.
outside activities------------------the pta supports several activities outside of regular school hours for student participation and for the promotion of school unity. Among other things, this includes funding for homework hour, directories, publications, charger camp, and other miscellaneous activities.
