Mission: Project Hope Charities Incorporated (PHC Inc.) is a New York Based Not-For-Profit, grass root community outreach organization, with Head offices in Jamaica Queens New York. Our non-for profit work extends assistance to all people regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race or ethnic background. We are currently seeking funding to establish a Free Community Health Center for the poor, underinsured and uninsured. We would also like to facilitate the construction of our Brand New Community Development Center, Our FREE Multispecialty Health Clinic, our Youth Empowerment and Rehabilitation program, along with our Hunger and Poverty Eradication program, Health Education and Vocational Training programs. After Hurricane Sandy, an exceptionally high number of people were left homeless, jobless and in need of food and basic necessities to survive. We assist those who are still suffering the after effects through our various outreaches. You can help us to continue all of these great programs by donating to this worthy cause. Everyday children get sick, but in poor communities and low income families, where children don’t have access to nourishing food and toiletries they are more likely to get sick and stay sick. TARGET MARKET: JAMAICA, NEW YORK: The immediate geographical target is the town of Jamaica, with a population of approximately one million people. Jamaica has a population of 91.50% black and others 8.50%. Household type headed by female is 43.60% indicating that 50% of males born in these families need a male role model or a mentor, 30.50% have no proper family structure and 26.70% are from single parents. About 60% of the population is between 18-65 years. Low-income levels contribute to the fact that the community has one of the highest rates of Crime, Teen pregnancy, Drug abuse, highest HIV population, Dropouts, unemployed youths and homeless people in New York State. 83% of the youth in Jamaica are from single headed households, where few parents have the necessary parenting skills to provide a safe and stimulating home environment, therefore the problems of discipline, drugs, alcohol abuse and teenage pregnancy, illiteracy and no vocational skill. 75% of youths drop out of school before 12th grade, over 68% become unwed mothers before age 18, 89% are incarcerated for felonies under age 21. Through our program we help to reduce these rates in our immediate community by catering to the youth through our Youth Development Programs, and feeding the hungry through our Food Pantry. Our food and clothing distribution program feeds and clothes over 2000 people every week. This number iincreases on a weekly basis, however we are running out of the space we need to effectively serve the community. We need to purchase a larger facility for increased food storage, and greater capacity for expansion so we can do more for those in need. We especially need the space for our Health Center. Programs: Project Hope is dedicated to community service through youth empowerment and rehabilitation, education and vocational training, health education and GED tutorials, food and clothes distribution, counseling and mentoring services , computer , music and multimedia training and we continue to explore more effective and dynamic ways to serve our community and guide these individuals as they navigate through the process of change.
