Project Hope Alliance takes a unique approach in not only responding to homeless youth but preventing them from the generational cycle that faces each one of them. By offering wrap-around services through the public schools they are already attending, there is a first line of response to their individual needs. The unique 12 point HOPE index developed by Project Hope Alliance allows case workers to calibrate the interventions necessary to reach the goal of healthy, self-sufficient adulthood. It is an honor to work with this group of Social Change Leaders.
My family and I have partnered with PHA over the last few years. We have helped with food distribution, holiday shopping/wrapping, Thanksgiving boxes, shoe drive, backpack drive and SO much more. My son even chose to help pass out food and Christmas gifts on his birthday. I was even able to Partner with Girl Scouts to do a birthday box drive. We love PHA and the work they are doing. PHA continues to find creative ways to support these kids experiencing homelessness. You can see very tangibly that they are impacting and changing lives with their organization. Thank you PHA for all you do- for the kids!!
I have been volunteering and donating to Project Hope Alliance for several years. Everyone I have met there is very committed to helping the homeless youth in this area from kindergarten to age 24. Even when Covid 19 hit, they significantly increased the number of youth served since many homeless do not have access to computers and/or wifi when remote learning was required for school. in addition to the many case managers stationed at local schools, they have special programs such as back to school backpacks loaded with supplies, Thanksgiving meals, and Christmas gifts. This is a very professional organization that serves a very important need.
I have always been inspired by the message of hope that Project Hope Alliance provides for kids in Orange County. One kid at a time, they do so much to help with education -- providing mentors, wifi/technology, tutors and most important to help their families find stable housing. I have donated to schools/education for those in need in Africa and Haiti, but Project Hope's mission touched my heart as they made me realize there are kids right here in Southern California who are in need of this additional support and that's why I have been a donor for several years now.
Project Hope Alliance truly has a genuine heart for the youth that they serve. They go above and beyond to ensure that youth experiencing homelessness are equipped with the resources they need to reach their full potential!
Project Hope Alliance is by far one of the best non-profit organizations we donate to and help serve, side by side, with their incredible staff! Their professionalism and love for these at-risk kids shows a real passion to help them have the confidence and desire to succeed. Project Hope helps provide food, school supplies, after school tutoring with Wifi, support on school campuses, and so much more in support for these children experiencing homelessness and everything in between. Many thanks to Project Hope and all they do for the children!
Through generous community donations, Project Hope has provided underprivileged children and their families with basic needs such as food, clothing, and school supplies. Counseling and tutoring services are also provided when needed.
Project Hope Alliance (PHA) is such a unique non-profit. PHA truly work so hard to provide the best for the kids by removing barriers for youth individuals experiencing homelessness. They are a wonderful organization and it's been an amazing community to work with.
Project Hope Alliance is an amazing organization. They always put the kids they serve first, and do everything they can to help them not become homeless adults. They make volunteering easy and fun.
Project Hope Alliance is an amazing agency. The staff are truly client centered and aim to support family stability while equipping children with the educational tools needed to excel beyond their current situation. I have seen the great works they produce. It is heartwarming.
A lot has changed in this organization! Including the stats! the Tax return posted for 2014 had more than 10% of the annual budget going to CEO salary! What! Wish Charity Navigator had voted on it! How is this top-rated charity? by what standards? budgets? data? outcome? how are those kids and family doing over the long term? Why should I choose this kids charity over the dozens in OC that are rated? Not like the documentary at all!!!
sad to say I do not support this organization in Costa Mesa anymore. They originally did great work with the "motel kids", but have veered way off course. They have withdrawn support to the actual school in Orange. I support the teachers and students who attend this program..............not the "alliance"
As a volunteer for approximately two years at Project Hope Alliance, I have been inspired and impressed by the amazing team of professionals at this Costa Mesa office! Jennifer Friend, CEO, possesses the perfect background (as an attorney) to develop strategy and lead her team and community towards ending homelessness for Orange County children.
Every employee and volunteer I interact with here is a dedicated, compassionate and results based go-getter. Susi Diaz, my boss, has the intellect, energy and commitment to tackle daily missions, such as: rapidly re-housing working poor families, providing children with tools they need to stay in school and grow, and ensuring that parents get the training, support and opportunities they need to remain self-sufficient.
The in-house food pantry, in-house computer lab and partnerships with various children’s organizations also make this non-profit org. a unique “one stop shop” for families in need. And I can’t say enough about the hardworking case managers; they are the backbone of Project Hope Alliance. Their smiles and metric based results will instill confidence in anyone who donates and likes to see tangible and local results. Project Hope Alliance makes a huge difference for many children and their parents in Orange County. I am proud to volunteer here.

No child should be homeless, especially in an area like Orange County. This wonderful organization is breaking the cycle of homelessness one child at a time. They are efficient and creative and can be trusted with your donations.
My name is Pam Parker. I live in Omaha, Ne. I just watched Homeless: The
Motel Kids of Orange County. What an eye opener for all of us who are so
truly blessed. Project Hope School is a blessing for these children. A safe place for them to go to everyday and receive an education that will
help them grow and become educated adults and responsible for themselves one day. I sit here in Nebraska and see a lot of poverty around the US and it saddens me to know that yes I can and will donate to help but to loose our teachers who are so patient with the children and excited to help them learn are loosing their jobs, what a shame...God Bless to them all.

Project Hope is a great non-profit organization to help underprivelaged children receive care, education, free meals, a proper place to socialize and space to grow. They don't have a stable place to call home, but they have a stable place to look foward to with no violence. I encourage places like this to be everywhere. I live in OC and I may not be considered "wealthy" but I am blessed and my heart goes to children who deserve a stable home.

I've had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time on the campus and get to know some staff members quite well. Their passion and drive to work with vulnerable and at risk youth is beautiful to witness up close. They go above and beyond in service to their students. They spend time in the community and are shining examples of collaboration and the impact it can have in tangible ways in the lives of the population they serve.

I have had the opportunity to work with the staff and students at
Project Hope School over the past 10 years and have found the organization to be not only beneficial to the students, but to those of us who have been fortunate to participate with this great school. There is an obvious sense of purpose on the campus; students and faculty
work together to provide a safe learning (and social) environment.
The students are motivated and active - the faculty is supportive
and truly concerned for the well being of the students.

I had a first hand experience with the Project Hope School when a team member at my work suggested that we get involved. I worked directly with Pam. From the beginning, we were amazed at the resources provided to these children.
#1 - The diversity in edcuational opportunities is outstanding. Among the many volunteers that contribute their time and energy to these students are highly educated instructors, artists and teachers.
#2 - the stability that is provided to these children is very effective in child development. Having a family that is unsure of their changes in living arrangements from month to month can be devastating to a child, but with the consistency that Project Hope Provides, and the reliable method of communication to and from school, these children actually have a fighting chance of recovering from difficult situations beyond their control.
#3 - the integrity behind the staff and their hope, passion and dedication to this children is genuine. Their hearts are in it! They love and care for these children, just because.
Volunteering is EASY - Just providing canned food or non-perishables is a big help. We saw small donations come together and make an enormous impact. . . just like Stone Soup! :o)
These families are given hope for their children and that gives these parents the strength to go out and work another day as they strive to recover from their circumstances.

I have been involved with Project Hope school since 1990 when the Rotary Club I belonged to asked me to help with a project. This project ......taking the children Christmas shopping for their family members was started in 1989. I have been the chair person on this project ever since that first day of involved. I have really gooten to know the students and the staff. This school is a contant place for the children, they have one on one relationships developing wuith the staff in their often world of chaos.
Every year the Rotarians look forward to taking these families shopping. This project pulls more volunteers than any other Rotary project and has one of the largest budgets. Needless to say, the Orange Roatary loves Hope School and stands behind them in any waty we can

I first learned of Project HOPE when I watched the documentary that aired on HBO regarding the Kids of Orange Couty. I was so deeply touched that I literally called Project HOPE and gave wonderful compliments in the work they are trying to provide for thede homeless families. I was so moved by the documentary that I tried to get information on adopting one of the families but by then they were no longer at the center.
I can't tell you how much they have touched me and being latina from Michigan it gives me such pleasure to know thatsomeone cares. I am so proud and thankful for the wonderful things Project HOPE is doing and hope that everyone pitches in to do their share.
They give families hope for their future who are in circumstances that are out of their control. Thank you Project HOPE and keep up the good work!

I just learned about Project Hope School after viewing an HBO documentary called "Homeless: The Motel Kids of Orange County". This school is offering the most valuable tool these children can use to give themselves a better future. An education is probably the only thing these kids can count on, and this school is providing an excellent one. I encourage more members of the general public to watch the documentary and learn more about the service this school is providing

I am a Project HOPE School parent. I first enrolled my three children at HOPE when we were living in a homeless shelter in Anaheim in 2005-06. I worked in Orange and didn't know where we would end up living. I was so excited to find a school that would provide transportation to and from school and free afterschool childcare as well. It was a lifesaver for us. I still have one child enrolled at Project HOPE.
Project HOPE School wouldn't exist without the Project HOPE School Foundation, which raises money for transportation, a music program, and field trips. If it weren't for Project HOPE, many homeless and motel families just wouldn't enroll their children in school. When we moved from the shelter to Garden Grove, then to Tustin, then to Costa Mesa, and now in Westminster, Project HOPE made sure my kids could stll get to school and afterschool programs.

This organization is doing a terrific job meeting a critical community need. After watching a news story of what they are doing I made sure to contact them for a list of supplies that they need and I also make sure that I patronize businesses that help these children and this organization. I was so shocked to learn that there were so many children in our county that were homeless and in need of such support.

I started project hope in fifth grade and left there graduating eighth grade. This school changed my life in so many ways. They made sure we had Christmas,Thanksgiving and a good education. They surrounded me with people in the same situation so no one thought they were better. It was like one big family there which made it so hard to leave. I loved the small classes and one on one time with the teachers. I loved how they would take us to the beach in the summer and out Christmas shopping in December. They help so many people and are amazing people. They deserve so much more then they get.
