Causes: International, International Relief
Mission: To empower impoverished children in rural Ethiopia with health, education, achievement and love. We consist solely of volunteers who are passionate about improving the quality of life among these children, their families and the community
Target demographics: To empower impoverished children in rural Ethiopia with health, education, achievement and love.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 240 students, their families and the local community
Geographic areas served: Love for the Children opened an Academy in Chacha, Ethiopia, called Love for the Children Academy (LFCA). Chacha is located approximately 70 miles north of Addis Ababa and is home to the poorest of the poor in the region.
Programs: Since its opening, 213 students have been sponsored and are enrolled in school. Thanks to Project HEAL's monthly student sponsorship program, each student receives two meals a day, a yearly uniform, a backpack and all necessary school supplies. In addition, we provide healthcare as needed for students and their immediate family along with annual physicals. In a joint effort with Love for the Children Ethiopia, Project HEAL will provide the tools and resources necessary to create income generating programs for the parents of our students.
