Mission: The Project 2.0 Foundation is committed to assisting veterans in their PTSD symptom management through physical fitness and team athletic participation, while also educating them in post-service business opportunities available to them. Project 2.0 Foundation was formed in 2019 after accidentally finding positive results in a group of Army Special Forces veterans who found success in their personal management of their PTSD symptoms by participating in both triathlons and other athletic events with each other’s encouragement and support. As a result of their symptoms becoming more manageable with their focus on athletics and physical fitness, the usage of recreational drugs, alcohol, and symptoms of depression decreased, or was eliminated. With the consideration of members of the psychiatric field, we decided to form a foundation to bring our findings national as well as our program to all veterans. Once our veterans have seen their symptoms becoming manageable, we heard a chorus of questions from them asking how to get integrated into the civilian workforce. We have created a “You 2.0” platform to assist them in honing in on their personal business and life goals for themselves, while also providing a practical pathway to achieve it. Podcasts, online portals, weekly conversations and check ins, and larger hosted conferences encourage the teamwork environment that they are all used to, while stretching them to create their own version of “You 2.0”.
