I had such an awesome experience with PTSD Veteran Athletes. When I joined the class, I felt a bond that I hadn’t felt since my enlistment. I am truly thankful for everything they did for me. My husband and I were both accepted into the program and both received free bikes plus all the gear needed to MB. We have both found a new hobby that wouldn’t have been financially possible without PTSD Veteran Athletes.
Serving as a board member for this organization has been a huge honor. Being able to meet such incredible individuals has been a blessing in my life. Each person has a unique story to tell and watching them grow not only in their sport of choice while being a part of our program as well as an individual is inspirational. Each participant becomes part of our growing family rather than another participant of our course. The bonds and memories created & shared go far beyond the two-weeks these individuals are with us. Hearing stories from the participants, I truly feel that the bonds created are impactful to everyone involved.
I am very grateful that I was given the opportunity to participate with the PTSD winter crew. The service and care that was provided was extremely professional, and the team made sure that everyone's needs were met. I had so much fun and it motivated me to become more active like I once was.
Such a life changing experience!!! WOW!!! Such an impact in a short amount of time. Top notch non-profit and even more amazing people from the background folks, volunteers, supporters, the great city of Pocatello, Idaho, Garn & Deb, East Fork Bikes, The Sandpiper Restaurant, Hooligans Bar and of course my brothers and sister for life Russ, Brennan, Shawn, Brad, Evan, Josh, Rad , Doug, Jake, Nate and Tina. Simply the best!!!
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be able to be a part of PTSD. They catered to everyone’s needs and had a great amount of professionalism. It was great to be able to collaborate with such amazing people and veterans. They were so eager to teach and help each other out with getting us gear, learning how to do the activity, and having fun!
I serve on the board for PTSD. I feel truly honored to be able to serve veterans. So many humbling stories. To see how thankful each and every veteran is after completeing the classes is so rewarding. Following the veterans on social media afterwords and seeing them use the equipment we proved them to continue pursuing their new passions is so cool. Thanks to all the support from the community and others willing to donate to help the individuals that fought for our freedom.
PTSD Veteran's Athletes is a great organization that does lots of different class to get veterans out of their comfort zone and try new things i signed up for the Mountain biking class and it was one of the best experiences I've had since i got out of the military. Got to meet a lot of great people in this class and would like to really thank Russell, Brennan and Shawn for the awesome experience thanks so much guys love u all Evan Pruett
I have made so many life long friends in the duration of all of our courses. The transformations we see in each individual is so humbling. I love seeing everybody continuing there new found passion on a daily basis. I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world! Here's to the future and continuing to send it!
I volunteered with PTSD Veteran Athletes for the rock climbing portion of their program. It was truly a rewarding experience. The veterans I got to work with were incredible. The organization itself is great, they offer a wide variety of activities and are adaptable for people of all levels of experience and abilities. I watched as the individuals in the organization went above and beyond for their participants, making it so they had the best possible experience and helping them building their own confidence in rock climbing.
I loved this program! I feel like its greatly improved the live of me and all the veterans that went through it. We learned a fun and positive hobby that we can continue and formed great bonds that I haven't felt since the military.
This program has GREATLY improved my life! After years of struggling with PTSD, I've found adrenaline sports as an outlet and an amazing group of people who understand.
I have been fortunate enough to help out a very good friend with this program. And also made friends with new people. It is fantastic. Comfort was a big deal. They made sure to try and make everyone comfortable with there new experiences. I would recommend this program for anyone wanting to try new things.
I cannot say enough about how this program changed my life but i can honestly say that it saved my life. After years of failures from the conventional treatments, therapy's and perscriptions I had lost the hope of ever getting better. And now after ten short days, I have hope again and I feel that I am able to control what has been controlling me.
So many thanks and God bless you all.
Forever, Douglas Frey
Awesome experience, group of good people going above and beyond to help hero’s in their time of need. Truly a group that think of others before themselves.
So fortunate to be able to be a part of this amazing group! Incredibly proud of this team of people, their mission and what hey stand for!
I love this organization!!!! Very welcoming ,friendly and professional all at the same time. They helped me out tremendously and also well deserved veterans in need of natures therapeutic healing. Definitely a nonprofit you can rely on without hesitation.
PTSD rock climbing course gave me the confidence to push past some of my hesitations that hindered me in relation to having PTSD. Learning how to climb with a group of supportive veterans gave me an outlet to overcoming personal struggles. The whole team created a family like environment making the experiences lifelong and extremely benefitial.
I was fortunate enough to get to participate in their snowboarding class. It really helped me become passionate not just about snowboarding, but also a new outlook on life. Through the two week course I made some great friends and became a lot more positive. I strongly recommend this program to other veterans. It is a life changing experience that every vet needs to experience. I will never be able to thank the great staff of PTSD enough for everything they did for me.
If there is an organization that puts the veteran’s needs before their own is PTSD, always ensuring we were having fun and being safe throughout the entire course. I also would like to say that once you arrive and get settled you become almost like a family with the other participants, I am thankful for the opportunity because It helped me a lot emotionally and mentally. Any veteran struggling with PTSD and/or depression will benefit from this. I hope PTSD grows and expands across the country, and I hope more veterans continue to get the help they need thru amazing organizations such as PTSD.
I participated in the rock climbing course, it was awesome and had a lot of fun. I definitely recommend this program for any Veteran our there that wants to try something new or just hang out with other vets for awhile.
I participated in the Kayaking class with PTSD. It was the most beneficial programs that I have done since I left the army, I now have a new passion and the gear to continue with kayaking. The PTSD team are very caring and non judgmental and will help you in any way they can even after the class is done. I recommend this program to any and all veterans!
This organization teaches an amazing way to deal with your PTSD with sports. Nothing beats hard work and feeling accomplished by challenging yourself with sports. This year I met the PTSD crew and they are amazing people. They taught me that I can continue to live a normal life and utilize sports to fight against my PTSD. They did everything possible to make my 2 weeks with them amazing. They are also veterans and gave me the chance to meet other veterans going through similar things that I am going through. I even got the chance to help a bit with a project that the president of the organization was doing pertaining to mountain biking. There was one day where I was having a hard day and I decided not to leave the hotel room. The president of the organization stayed with me in my room till I left with him to enjoy the day and the great outdoors with my service dog and new found friends. I have never experienced this type of patience with any other organization out there. They got me all the gear that I needed to become successful in kayaking. I cant wait to go back again and this time be able to join them to the winter program they have. For such a small organization the do have the biggest hearts. Thank you PTSD for everything you did for me and my service dog as well as making me feel that I am still important and can actually be part of a Team. I am the guy riding the German Shepherd like if he was a horse.
