Mission: Increase breast cancer awareness by educating alaskan women on early detection, prevention, and options for local support, to raise funds for research and advocacy, and to assist in easing the burden of cancer patients in alaska.
Programs: Breast cancer education and support:to promote alaskan breast cancer research, education, advocacy and patient relief. Approximately 2000-4000 individuals are reached each year through the distribution of educational materials that are handed out at various fundraisers and celebrations.
compassionate giving program:provided $50 gift cards to help cancer patients meet the needs of basic necessities. Approximately 620 gift cards were distributed.
comfort bags:volunteers annually assemble and distribute about 400 comfort bags to breast cancer patients throughout the state of alaska.
