I am incredibly grateful to the Powerful Project for making play therapy accessible to families with young children. There are limited play therapists who accept insurance, which initially priced us out of many of the available options. Thanks to the Powerful Project, my young daughter has been able to meet with a play therapist weekly, which has been an incredible source of support for her as our family navigates divorce and new family roles. The Powerful Project is an invaluable resource, and the impact this assistance has had on our mental health is tremendous.

As a retired teacher and social worker, I have seen so many children and families in need of mental health and other therapeutic needs. The Powerful Project exists to bring help and hope to those who would not otherwise be able to receive these services. Financial aid can make those services possible and I am happy to be a donor.

What an ingenious concept. The Powerful Project should be available in every state throughout the US. Beneficiaries pay what they can afford and get matched with a therapist specifically chosen for them, the clinical partners are practitioners who genuinely care about their clients and lower their fee for the Powerful Project clients. Small but mighty! The Powerful Project believes that access to mental health care should be available to any individual in need, regardless of their ability to pay, and they are making this a reality one person and one family at a time. For individuals who have limited or no ability to navigate the complexities and cost of our healthcare system, The Powerful Project provides a lifesaving link to quality mental health services. In addition, The Powerful Project's educational series helps communities better understand mental health issues so that stigma is reduced and people are encouraged to seek care. I am truly so impressed by the work this nonprofit is doing. The Powerful Project is indeed having a powerful and transformative impact for people in need of mental health care. I run therapeutic summer camps and provide acute mental health services for kids and families navigating complex neurobiology and developmental trauma. This is a particularly complicated group of people. The financial coast of treatment is significantly higher than many other issues. The behaviors more complex and difficult to manage. Meaning this group of kids need more staff, more hours and more expertise, making it very expensive to help these kids and families.
The Powerful Project has help us to raise funds to provide camps and direct services to families. These families and kiddos would not have received quality intervention and experiences without the Powerful Project. A eleven year old girl with learning disabilities, four special needs sibling who watch her father kill himself at home got to spend the summer in our care this summer because of the Powerful Project. A boy 13, whose first suicide attempt was at eight, spent the summer with us. According to his Momma she had not seen him smile since the first attempt, he had no friends and refused to leave the house. Since a summer at camp, he is smiling daily now, joined a baseball team and has three friends over to his house over the fall since camp. This love and joy was made posable by the Powerful Project.
In total the Powerful Project has helped us fund six children this year for camps and services. It has been impactful for both the children and the families.

The Powerful Project is a gift to so many communities: families, clients, and professionals. I got to know the Powerful Project as a speaker in their ongoing speaker series. This series brings together caregivers, professionals, members of clients' support networks and, when appropriate, clients themselves to learn and connect around all types of topics. Speakers donate their time and attendees are encouraged to provide a donation in exchange for participating in the talk, with all proceeds going towards funding services for clients who are financially "stuck in the middle" regarding their ability to affordably access mental health and developmental services. As the need for high quality services continues to grow, The Powerful Project is stepping in to ease the burden of financial hardship that appropriate and necessary services often place on families. I am so honored to have been invited to speak on behalf of such an important and needed organization and hope others have the opportunity to support and connect with the wonderful team at The Powerful Project.

I was introduced to the Powerful Project through Lauren Foster during my search for mental health services and support. From the first call and throughout my experience with the therapist she connected me with, Lauren has been warm, inviting, empathetic, attentive, graciously and generously supportive. I am grateful to have met and connected with her and appreciate the support of the Powerful Project. Without it, I may not have reconnected with myself and my life in the way I have since we met at the beginning of this year. Truly grateful!

They have helped connect me to several different resources and worked with me financially to get an incredible amount of support to help myself and son. I am beyond grateful for the support my family has received through The Powerful Project. I had become convinced that the right support was just not available for my family and I was beyond discouraged. We had been in crisis for so long and we had so many issues that needed to be addressed. In my extensive search for support, it seemed that the help we needed was out of reach financially and/ or not available. A friend of a friend recommended I reach out and I had nothing to lose.

When I met with Lauren for the first time, I felt like she got it! Our situation was so complicated….and she got it. I had talked to a lot of people, so just having someone who could understand the complexity of our situation was validating. Lauren used her contacts to continually find professionals who could handle the intensity of our struggles and help us. Thanks to The Powerful Project, we are all receiving therapy and so much more at a cost that we can manage.

We needed supports for Autism, school trauma, loss of a parent during the pandemic, suicidal ideation, a traumatic hospitalization, family support and coaching, help locating services and school options for a child on the spectrum, therapeutic camps, and sibling support. We have received support that I did not know existed and it is making life possible again. The help my family received would have been out of reach without The Powerful Project.

The Powerful Project's mission is so important. The people running the Powerful Project have a long history of helping people in need. They truly care about the well-being of others. Fantastic group!

I developed a relationship with The Powerful Project through Perspectives Holistic Care in August of 2022. I do not have any insurance or income, so Lauren Foster graciously signed me up for a scholarship for 6 months of free therapy. I have been receiving therapy for almost three months now, and find it to be extremely beneficial for my mental health and recovery. I didn't realize the importance of, or even the need for therapy, to deal with PTSD from my childhood trauma 45 years ago.
In talking with Lauren, she helped me realize that medication alone is not enough to heal from and move through my childhood trauma that is and has been affecting me for most of my 57 years. This organization has been extremely important for me and I'm so glad to have them along with me in my journey to a healthy and wonderful life ahead.

The Powerful Project is finding new ways to spread kindness and help all people find mental health support. From their amazing virtual speaker series on important topics to their outreach to help people understand the importance of mental health support their work is incredible. I learned about the concept and dream behind The Powerful Project after meeting the founder, Lauren, a few years ago. At that point, the organization was brand new. I was moved and excited by her enthusiasm and seeing the gap that this organization could fill in our community. Closing the gap in access to adequate mental health care is needed now more than ever. My college-aged daughter really struggled during her freshman year. When she returned home for the summer and agreed that therapy would help prepare her for sophomore year, no one was taking on new patients due to high demand. Through the Powerful Project, she was able to find the support she needed and is now flourishing, academically and personally!

I came across Powerful Project at a time in my life when I was at my most vulnerable. In 2019 I had emergency surgery to deliver my youngest child at 31wks gestation. The months that followed were spent with my baby in NICU and at home with 2 other young children. I forgot to take care of myself and so when post partum depression set in coupled with isolation of living through a pandemic, I was overwhelmed by so many emotions.
Since being connected with a wonderful Therapist through this amazing non-profit organization I am on my way to recovering my positive mental wellbeing. My family is benefiting from the support offered by a team of amazing people.
The organization has been able to work with me on my limited budget. I would recommend this service to anyone needed help during life's challenges.

My family is like most families- we very much need the support and guidance of a stable, caring resource. From the first visit, the Powerful Project has made it absolutely clear that their primary motivation has been to help and provide resources for families who would otherwise fall through the cracks (i.e. families who make too much to qualify for aid, but who don't have hundreds or thousands each month to dedicate to mental health).
