Laurie is so compassionate and kind hearted. I have seen her take in the most difficult cases and through her knowledge, she has secured a better life for these horses. Her dedication and love for these horses is shown through the amazing care she gives.

Ponytales Rescue is a fantastic rescue. They rescued my mare from auction and did a fantastic job with bringing her back to good health. If it wasn’t for Ponytales, I never would’ve met and adopted my mare, who I couldn’t imagine living without! Fantastic organization that always puts the animals first.

Ponytail rescue is a small rescue in my area. I have watched them take on horses rescued from neglect and auction kill pens and give them a chance! In the past few years one specific horse sticks in my mind, a little boy who was the sole survivor in a neglect case. Laura took this fella in nursed him back to health, he is now rideable and healthy!

This rescue may seem small, but they have made some BIG impacts on the daily lives of hundreds of horses. Laurie is one of the most selfless human beings I know. She dedicates nearly all her time and energy into making a difference in this world. She does constant check in’s on all her adopted horses, making sure they are kept happy and healthy even after they leave her care. She does this while continuing to take more horses in for rehabilitation every year. Love this place and everything they do❤️

I was at a horse auction in NY with my step-daughter, we saw this halflinger with a damaged face and bad teeth. I know I can not afford the care she would need but could not let this poor horse suffer or go for meat. I saw Laurie from Ponytales rescue in the bleachers and we brought this little horse to her attention. Laurie took one look at the little horse and knew she was the one to help her. She purchased the Haflinger and got her the help she needed and found her a great home.

They do great work and are so helpful! I looked into adopting from them and the timing of everything was off (there is some distance between us) and they were still fantastic. I’ve also seen them offer help with the “after the save” part, like hauling and feeding advice, which is all so critical to a successful placement.

Wonderful organization that helps horses in need, when others can't. The owner is a lifelong animal lover, and it shows in her care.

I fostered a pony for this rescue several years ago. The pony was being starved and had an illness that was not being treated. She was also elderly. Ponytales stepped up but had no room at the inn so I picked her up and brought her to my farm where she got fat and lived for 2 years until her original illness got worse and she was euthanised. The foster experience with Ponytales went smoothly and the founder was if great assistance when needed.

I think ponytails is one of the best places I got my 1st horse form them 8 years ago and he was well treated he is very well behaved then a few years later I got my girls there and would get more from them I love them for what they do so please donate or adopt a animal

When it came time to find a new home for my beloved paint Prince due to financial difficulties, I knew immediately that ponytales house rescue was the place to help me. Laurie personally screened potential new owners for me and find the perfect match! She came to my house on long island with the new owner Melissa, in the pouring rain. She was not in a rush and let me take my time saying goodbye to my baby boy. Years later I still keep in touch with Prince's new horse mom and o get to see pics and videos all the time. I would never go anywhere else!

I've volunteered here , as well as adopted. Horses are very well taken care of. There are no " hidden " surprises when you adopt. They are honest about the horse , provide all the vet paperwork so you know exactly what type of horse you're bringing home. All vaccinations are given which is a huge help and prices for adoptions are more then fair. Would adopt again if I'm looking in the future.

I have followed and donated to this rescue for a number of years because Laurie is willing to take the tough cases and rehab them back to health. The horses get the best of care and Laurie is completely transparent about what donations are used for. She posts vet bills, feed store invoices (I believe you can donate directly to both if you are concerned about how your donation is used), and she is also quite knowledgeable about equine nutrition.

I have a mare that was rescued by Ponytales. She had a lot of health issues in the beginning and was given an extraordinary amount of care and love. This is a wonderful organization that takes the time and proper steps needed for each horse.

I love this rescue. I have volunteered some of my time there. The horses are very loved and cared for.

Laurie and the folks at Ponytales Rescue are the greatest!! They have taken horses that were in really bad shape with very little hope for a home and turned them around. They do all they can to bringing out their inner beauty and getting them great, permanent homes. They work on a shoestring budget and really help a lot of horses. I have seen this miracle work in person and I can attest that they give each and every horse they take in all the care and vetting they need, they don't give up no matter the problem and if there is something incurable they make sure the animal is comfortable to the end.
