Mission: The point is a volunteer group of 35 women dedicated to helping women in our community. Through various fundraising events, members' contibutions, donations and activities, the group raises funds that are annually re-distributed to organizations on johns, james and wadmalaw islands. The money donated must specifically target women in need.
Programs: Camp for a cause: annual event held each october. Approximately 150 women camp and participate in various activities like opportunity drawings and tent decorating contests. All camp proceeds support a breast cancer initiative to support women on james, johns or wadmalaw islands.
oyster roast: annual event attracting approximately 300 participants. This activitiy raises funds through sponsorships, opportunity drawings and ticket sales.
fishing tournament: annual event held each spring and is open to men and women. This one-day event features several categories including junior angler and woman angler. This event raises funds through drawings and sponsorships.
