Mission: The Platinum Torch National Service Honorary was founded in 2002 to encourage the volunteer efforts and support the outstanding community service performed by America''s students. We believe that community service has become an avenue to differentiate students in the same manner as academic excellence and athletic achievement. The Platinum Torch seeks to supplement the intangible feeling of helping others with honor for the students efforts, and provide a platform to leverage these experiences into a competitive advantage. The Platinum Torch provides members with the Community Service Transcript that is sent to admissions offices or prospective employers, verifying their service.
Programs: Being registered with the Platinum Torch National Service Honorary, members will be eligible for scholarships, a Seed Grant Program, which school chapters can apply for in order to promote volunteerism at their school or college, participation in a new and dynamic movement to promote the importance of community service, networking with fellow members, and access to new community service opportunities.
