Plant and Animals Welfare Society (PAWS) is an organisation with a compassionate heart and helping hands.

I have known this NGO for the last 22 years. It's founder Nilesh and his team are rendering wonderful service to all kinds of animals - wild and domestic. They are involved in every sector of Animal Welfare (Rescue, sterilisation, treatments, surgery, vaccinations, education, etc .). They work efficiently and tirelessly for our furry friends. In spite of their limited resources, they go beyond their call of duty.

I've learnt alot of things from handling animals to vaccinating them and even correctly dealing with emergency situations during my time in volunteering. We-The Zara Animal Project approached PAWS for sterilisations in Aug 21 -our request was 5-6 female dogs once a week to help control the population in and around Murbad Badlapur Ulhasnagar Ambernath Thane etc and help needy feeders.

Nilesh Bhanage instantly agreed and accommodated our surgeries in his tight schedule of other important surgeries as they too want to help make a difference PAWsitively. He has been very helpful in guiding us and extremely disciplined with prompt paperwork.
Paws has done 34 sterilisations for us in 1.5 months.

Good and supportive team, conducting regular vaccination drives for strays in and around Thane district.

I joined this organisation last year on September, the main reason was no ngo works for animals as much as they do. The founder himself works day and night, call him anytime and hes available, thats how much he cares about animals, and the volunteers were even active during quarantine, volunteers turned into feeders during quarantine, thats how much paws has had an impact on us as humans. It changed me and i know it has changed many volunteers lives. Whoever read this please let the world know how much paws works for animals even birds, Im not saying PETA doesn't do anything, but PAWS as an ngo that rescues and works for them is underrated compared to other famous organisations. They literally exist so that animals can live in peace ������

P.A.W.S helped me adopt a street day last year (Dec 2019) process was hassle free. Even during COVID-19 Pandemic they guided me so well that my PET didn’t had to suffer.

These guys are really doing a good job.. Visited this place once and they gave us a tour of the place around. this Ngo is really taking good care of the abandoned dogs and various such animals . You can also contribute to a particular accident dog where the expense will go for that dog it self or you can do a monthly donation that goes for the expenses like food and other products.

PAWS is a well organised NGO, they provide treatment for all kind of animals, birds, etc.. being a volunteer I learned a lot of things. Nilesh sir is also very helpful and has diverse knowledge on all kind of animals.

Out of my many experiences with PAWS, one has been of a dog with VG. He was in a very very bad condition,to the extent that he could not pee. PAWS took him, and even after sessions of chemotherapy, his swelling kept returning. But they persevered, and after 2 long months, he was ok! I think it was only due to the spirit of not giving up till he was completely OK which needs to be appreciated.

PAWS is the best NGO always helping us to treat & sterilized stray Animals. I appreciate efforts taken by PAWS by organising seminars which educate us how to treat and handle animals. Especially i thank Nilesh to make me animal lover & care taker insted of Psyco lover.

I have many rescue stories wherein stray life was saved with the help of paws team.But would like to share the one wherein paws saved life of one of the stray who was injured and maggots were on the wound.A stray in my uncles apartment was injured due to the belt which was tied around his neck.The iron buckle which helps tightened the belt slowly kept pricking the dogs skin and it made a deep hole in the neck which turned in a very big wound and maggots made the case more worse.Just one phone call was made to paws as dogs condition was worst and they not just got him admitted but released him only after the wound was completely healed and that too without any expectations.Dog was released in very healthy condition by the team.Thanks to team Paws for all the rescues, anti rabies drive, getting abandoned animals adopted and the organising events to educate people regarding animal welfare.....Vaishali Satish Kamath

PAWS is doing a wonderful job by educating the layman the significance of caring for animals, and yet at the same time not spoiling the environment around us. The volunteers of PAWS are spread across Mumbai, and it does a wonderful job to not only treat as many street animals it can, but also tends and rehabilates birds and wildlife to their safe environment. The NGO has been putting its consistent efforts to reduce the human- animal conflict through awareness programs, vaccination drives, tree plantation programs in various vicinities, educational institutions and corporate sectors too. They helped me many times in different situations to treat and rescue the needy stray animals, But they have some limitations so sometimes didn't get help , still I rely on them.

A really active NGO who not only cares for the animals and birds, with consistent rescue and treatments, but also is educating citizens for improving the life and well being of the animals, birds and its environment by arranging workshops, awareness programs and exhibitions. Also going to the extent of roping in helpful and generous celebrities to spread the word of better well being for animals hence pushing the enthusiasm to a wider demography of the society.
Few of the initiatives include several drives to vaccinate and provide treatment to the stray animals in and around Mumbai.
PAWS has done a really commendable job for the well being of the Nature's precious creations.

I have been with PAWS from 2011, since that day I have seen its working from ground level.

The passion for welfare and love towards animals is in every volunteer attached to it.

Mr. Nilesh Bhanage (the founder) himself works with all the volunteers and make sure that all the rescue cases and management work is going smoothly.

Before joining i was only an animal lover but now there is passion towards conservation too.

I came across situations where money was not a major hurdle but helping poor injured animal was. When I came across PAWS and their contribution and I understood that there is PAWS who can help and I must help PAWS to continue this noble work.

The most important point I would like to highlight about this NGO is they started off and functioned very well in an area where there was absolutely no help for animals, no NGOs no rescue centres and no awareness existed in those areas where PAWS does it work

By starting and working in an area where there is absolutely no help and having come such a long way is very credible and commendable and they have come a very long way facing many hardships

Whenever any animal requires human help PAWS comes into the action. Just a call and in 20-30 minutes you will find the PAWS volunteer who has started the rescue action. Whether its anti rabies operation for street dogs or medication required for any street animal/bird PAWS is in action. I have used there services for three times and in reality every time PAWS person has reached the spot in less than 30 minutes. I wish all the best to PAWS team for their fantastic work.

there are many organizations for those who can express their feelings but what about those who can't talk thanks to paws really they are people for animals proud to have such guys around us!!!!!

A few years ago, I was being hassled by my housing society for keeping three (Indian) dogs in the apartment I rented. I contacted Nilesh from PAWS (who I didn't know personally) for help... Within a few days, he sent me a lawyer's document to counter the pressure the housing society was putting on me to move out, along with relevant media articles that proved my housing society was legally wrong.

Since I have become more involved with animal rescue, I have heard great things about PAWS from animal activists and lovers alike. I have always respected the work he and Mansi do.

I had been associated with PAWS for sometime. but due to some reasons i had to sideline myself from the team. But at PAWS they are doing an amazing job for our four legged friends and that too without any intentions of gaining any economic returns.

PAWS team works very efficiently & promptly...i have never had an opportunity to meet nilesh but whenever i have had any animal related issues, nilesh has always helped me & never let the animal in distress down...way to go nilesh!

I've been an regular PAWS donor for almost 7 years now and I've also on couple of occasions been part of their fund-raisers(in my own small way).

What I like about PAWS is their total commitment & zeal in doing all tasks related to Animal Welfare. IMHO I've never seen an more dedicated bunch of youngsters, unilaterally focused on ensuring distressed animal are treated well & taken care of. No tasks or animal distress call too menial or too unimportant to this team. In fact PAWS volunteers have on few occasions almost risked their lives during animal rescue calls.
With the addition of animal hospital @ Murbad, PAWS is growing from strength-to-strength. I'm not surprised to see them grow as the front-runners of animal welfare in Thane suburbs.

PAWS a group of dedicated volunteers who respond quickly to calls. Their work in sterilizing strays is commendable. May their tribe increase!

Paws responded to calls very efficiently and their dedicated volunteers take really good care of the animals they are rescuing. They carry out stray dog vaccination in my area regularly and I'm sure they carry out many such initiatives wherever they can reach.

PAWS murbaad is one the best non profit org working towards animal welfare I have seen .they have a dedicated team of full time workers and volunteers who continuosly strive towards the upliftment of animal welfare in our country...also they are the beat source of knowldge to mankind about animal welfare and help to fight against the cruelty of animals...i really salute there work.

The training programmes attended by me have been very educative on all aspects from stray dogs/cats
to wildlife etc. Though their programmes a lot of youngsters have been inspired to help the stray population in Mumbai. A lot of awareness has been generated thru these programmes on strays, their
background, causes for stray population, need for sterilisation, and a love for the wild.

My wife and I have been contributing to PAWS for nearly 3 years now. In all this time, the passion that Nilesh has demonstrated has been very refreshing. From the very humble beginings, we have seen PAWS evolve gradually into an organisation with increasing impact on the efforts to representing and protecting the life of animals. His contribution is infact well beyond the animal rescue service, the rescued animals shelter and the general awareness creation efforts that are the hallmark of other such organisations. PAWS and Nilesh are now voices that have often highlighted the plight of stray animals and the condition of animals forced into labor. The holistic approach is also evident in the wildlife photography exhibitions that Nilesh conducts, where the focus is not only on animal life, but also on the flora & plant-life.

I HAVE ONLY EVER READ AND HEARD GOOD THINGS THAT PAWS HAS DONE FOR ANIMALS. I REALLY WISH THAT THERE WERE MORE ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THIS ALL OVER THE WORLD. THE ANIMALS HAVE FEW FRIENDS COMPARED TO THE HUMANS WHO RECEIVE HELP FROM GOVERNMENTS . ANIMAL CHARITIES ARE SO NEEDED AS THE ABUSE AND CRUELTY TO ALL ANIMALS IS THE WORSE ITS EVER BEEN. I WISH PAWS COULD BE USED ON TV AS A COMMERCIAL TO SHOW THE GREAT WORK THEY DO FOR INJURED ANIMALS.

PAWS is very good organization in helping animals ins distress, while other NGO's has space problems & most of them are with donor pleasing activities. PAWS is always a exception. When ever there injured stray animal lying @ railway track, PAWS reaches fast. If no one there to show animal or give money that dosen't matter.

Since last 6 years,I have been working actively as well as passively for animals. Over all these years,kind of determination,dedication,perseverancea and focused approach I have seen in Paws is unbelievable. Always available for all animals,very systematic approch is.the key to their work style. Along with serving animals and nature,the way awareness is created by them is truely appreciated. Without plants and animals, human existence would be impossible. Without compassion and sympathy for other life forms, humans would not be humans. I have been following the activities of PAWS for several years and am convinced that they are a bunch of dedicated volunteers with passion and deserve all the support we can give them. The message of inter-dependence and compassion they espouse is laudable and I have no hesitation at all in extending my support to them.

This charity helps every animal they encounter which is sick or injured or lost without regard for their own safety. They spend their very limited funds wisely and are a wonderful investment for anyone who loves animals and compassion.

One NGO that caters to all animals, and birds and just doesnt restrict to dogs and cats .They also rescue snakes which is a rare thing too. I have been working with PAWS from past 3 years and its been a wonderful experience..Rescuing birds,animals,reptiles is PAWS empower us to help needy animals on the street. It could be an injured or sick animal needing medical intervention (vet or hospitalisation) or a young one needing a loving home… & yes, they have taught us to do it the right way … so that the animal does not suffer from unprofessional or amateur doctoring. Thanks a lot to Nilesh & team for all the support and encouragement, to help us make a difference in the lives of our “Feathered & Four-legged” friends and to become a better Human Beingamazing..I got a chance to be close to the nature..I love my job..I will like to advise all to join PAWS and do something for their country..Animal welfare is a part of help which you can do for the betterment of your country and its animals..They are a group of youngsters and no one is above 40 in their entire unit, none of the patrons come from affluent background. They make 2-3 news stories EVERYDAY raising awareness and confidence of animal lover as well as increasing positive perception of public on the issue of animal welfare. but news is not what they work for, animals is what they really work for, news just happen. They rescue animals, fight against cruelty, promote vegetarianism, carry out plantation drives, rescue wildlife, run vaccination drives, carry out vet medical camps, they do nearly everything that large animal NGOs do, but with fraction of funds and resources. Their real strength is the power of youth, almost everything is done by volunteers.

I have recently joined this organization and did 2-3 events together (stray dogs' vaccination, rescue of a physically challenged dog) I really appreciate PAWS working style and efforts which shows that there is still presence of selflessness kindness and humanity. I am associated with PAWS for around 2.5 years now and I volunteer and attend rescue calls in my own capacity in and around Badlapur. Its been a great learning experience till now, where every day, every person and every animal is a new experience. PAWS is apt in responding to rescue calls and giving timely treatments to animals in distress. PAWS has its unique way to interact with all of its volunteers and discuss rescue cases. They use Watsapp...which I believe is one of the best ways to keep everyone in loop. With time I have seen PAWS improving day by day and I am sure (though its 15 years now)...this is just a beginning....many more to come :)

Plants Animal welfare Society (PAWS) run by Nilesh Bhanage is a NGO which works towards the welfare of animals in Thane district area. Based in Dombivali this NGO works vry effectively and efficiently when it comes to the rescue of any animals, reptiles, birds, etc... Im a part of this organisation since January this Year but i can confidently say that its one of the best NGOs in Mumbai. PAWS also arranges Anti Rabies Vaccination drives for stray dogs every month in various areas and suburbs., It also has tree plantations & other awareness workshops held in the city. It also specializes in late night rescues, which is well beyond its allocated ambulance timings. There is a rescue center at Murbad, run on d funding's by donors, where all the animals are treated & released back.

PAWS also has the best Volunteer relationships, with the personal touch taking it to the next level. For more than a decade PAWS has worked for animal welfare and is one of the elite non profit organisations in Mumbai. I recommend any animal lover or professional to be a part of PAWS n b d part of uncompromising & dedicated welfare organisation for animals.

Having read about the humane work done by PAWS, I decided to associate with them. However in view of inability to contribute time as a volunteer, I have associated myself as a Donor. My observation is that PAWS is extremely well co-ordinated by Mr.Nilesh Bhange. In addition to receiving and attending rescue calls via phone & other means, a group has been set up on Whatsapp wherein rescue calls are flashed and volunteers respond and provide respite to suffering animals. The shelter run by PAWS caters to suffering animals who need surgery, prolonged care and nursing. In addition to rescuing animals like dogs, cats, squirrels, donkeys, cows etc., PAWS also rescues birds like crows, sparrow, egrets, pond heron etc. and also reptiles like snakes, monitor lizards etc. All the animals, birds etc. are released into their natural habitat, after treatment, if required. A characteristic of PAWS which stands out and which I personally love is that they do not believe in putting down any animal / bird no matter how bad the prognosis is. They nurse it dedicatedly to ensure that it has the best chance at life and if not then it lives out its time as comfortably and painlessly as possible.
PAWS also plays an active role in preventing deforestation, illegal cutting of trees and also reforestation through tree planting activities. They also spread awareness of environment and animal welfare related issues through seminars at schools, colleges or any group of individuals who are willing to listen. They conduct vaccination drives for stray animals on the streets, railway stations & other public areas.
The volunteers are an extremely enthusiastic and dedicated group of individuals who also foster animals & birds whenever required. The founder Mr.Nilesh Bhange who is the driving force behind the whole setup is an extremely highly motivated individual whose sole motto in life is to provide relief and respite to as many suffering creatures as possible which often keeps him up late hours since he attends calls even post midnight. In addition to rescue and rehabilitation, he is almost singly responsible for raising funds for the activities of PAWS. The untiring and unstinting efforts of Mr.Nilesh Bhange is hard to believe considering what a thankless task animal resuce and rehabilitation can be in the face of opposition & hostility faced by all animal activists.

P.A.W.S. is one of most efficient animal welfare NGO. They have a prompt service, huge network and volunteers who no matter what time and place always rescue the distressed animals. P.A.W.S also conducts various awareness programs which are equally helpful. We Dombivlikars are glad to have such NGO which works relentlessly for the sake of animals. Kudos to P.A.W.S.

I have known PAWS since last 8 years and am amazed by their sincerity, selflessness and total committment to the task of upholding animal rights and their welfare. Fighting for animal rights is no easy task. One has to fight against great odds and very soon a huge majority of animal rights crusader loose the drive and will to champion this cause. However PAWS has been relentlessly pursuing its goal of helping as many animals as possible and spreading the need and logic behind animal welfare and environment preservation to all.
They are a bunch of extremely enthusiastic individuals who don't get bogged down by adversities and always keep working towards the larger goal of making humans understand that they can live in harmony with animals and environment, without destroying them.
I pray that their work gets greater recognition and more people join hands with them and make it bigger and better.

Welfare might be an understatement if one sees the actual working of PAWS. Started humbly by the founder Mr.Nilesh Bhanage on the basis of pure passion for the benevolence of animals and plants, PAWS has turned into an organization working relentlessly and selflessly for a decade. Altruism is the best quality that can be attributed to PAWS and Nilesh. It is literally a non-profit organization and I am saying this as I have seen their efforts towards distempered animals. With PAWS, one thing you can be sure of is that your efforts in kind or in cash wont be wasted even a bit, and the satisfaction for doing your bit towards the environment comes along with this package. :) So people who are reading this review, I would urge you to take a look at the enormous efforts that PAWS is taking and at least think about donating your time and money even in small amounts and PAWS will make sure that a larger good comes out of it.

I am working with PAWS from last 10 years, Mr. Nilesh Bhanage is founder of PAWS who earlier himself come into streets and give treatment to animals. as work and calls increase he made Hospital in Murbad for them. With so many efforts and large hard work now he is known to many people as PAWS founder and our NGO is now well known. i know one example that we got a call from kalyan when we went there we saw dog with broken leg and his bone come out of skin and we catch him admit to murbad Mr. Nilesh went there and dog was operated in front of him he is well doing now, we have donkey ward also when one donkey pregnant at the time of her delivery sir himself went there. we have programs like Re-homing, Rescuing, Treatment for Injury, Plantation and fight against cruelty for animals cases
