Causes: Sports, Winter Sports
Mission: The organization supports local youth hockey by attracting top hockey players in different age groups, offering an excellent environment to develop skills, teaching teamwork among the players, and instilling the following core values in each member: achievement, competitiveness, citizenship, enthusiasm, scholarship and sportsmanship ("access").
Programs: The organization provides ice hockey for children under the age of 18.
nhl youth cup tournament - hosted the 2015 nhl youth cup tournament in the 2001, 2003 and 2005 age groups at the upmc lemieux sports complex. The tournament, presented by dick's sporting goods, featured aaa youth programs affiliated with the carolina hurricanes, columbus blue jackets, detroit red wings, new jersey devils, new york islanders, philadelphia flyers and washington capitals.
mid-winter classic - hosted the 2015 mid-winter classic at the state of the art upmc lemieux sports complex. The tournament features over 50 of the top aaa teams in north america. Visiting teams have the opportunity to tour ppg paints arena and experience a wide array of pittsburgh culture and events.
thanksgiving classic - hosted the 2015 thanksgiving classic at the rmu island sports center, baierl, and the upmc lemieux sports complex. The tournament, features girls teams from both the tier 1 and tier 2 levels and is a testament to the growth of women's hockey and the popularity of the sport across all boundaries.
