Mission: The purpose of the pittsburgh area jewish committee is to build bridges of respect between diverse religious and ethnic communities as well as attempting to eliminate all types of bigotry.
Programs: The organization conducted programs to build bridges of respect between diverse religious and ethnic communities as well as attempting to eliminate all types of bigotry. Program accomplishments include a) presenting a community impact award to individuals who have distinguished themselves as community leaders b)provide christian-jewish dialogues in 2 locations, east pittsburgh and south hills c) maintain the caplan-lieber award program of which pajc presents a scholarship and a school award to a high school student who builds interfaith or intergroup relationships in thier school or community d) maintain the catholic-jewish education enrichment project which establishes a partnership between rabbis and catholic educators.
