healthy living - at the y, we work to improve community health and well-being. We bring families closer together, encourage good health, and foster connections through fitness, fun, and shared interests. In 2017, the piedmont family ymca opened the brooks family ymca, which allows us to greatly expand our reach and community impact. In 2017, we served 13,720 community members across two locations. Financial assistance of over $33,540 was granted to individuals and families who may otherwise not have been able to afford the full cost of membership.
social responsibility - at the y, we foster giving back and providing support to our neighbors. The y is committed to being accessible to everyone by identifying, addressing, and eliminating economic, geographical, and cultural barriers. At the y, everyone has the opportunity to belong. We do this through engaging and convening the varying demographics in our community to live, work, and play through our program and volunteerism. In 2017, 200 individuals volunteered their time, talent, and treasure to support the piedmont family ymca.
