Nonprofit Overview
Mission: Phelps County Family Crisis Services, Inc. is a not for profit organization that provides services to victims of family violence and their children. We support the principle that all individuals have a right to a life free of domestic and sexual violence. We seek to break the cycle of violence through prevention education, advocacy, counseling, increased public awareness, coordinating resources, and providing a safe environment.
Results: An addition was added to the existing shelter 3 years ago allowing us to house up to 65 residents at one time.
Programs: The shelter develops advocacy and support services and cooperates with existing organizations to provide health and advocacy services for victims of domestic violence and their families. The organization educates the community about the needs of families.
