Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: Pettaway Pursuit Foundation’s mission is to improve pregnancy, birth, postpartum and NICU experiences along with achieving healthier newborn outcomes and empowering new mother with resources and education on proper infant care.
Results: As of October 2019, PPF received 2,372 referrals and successfully served 1,616 moms.
Target demographics: Pregnant moms (up to 2 months postpartum), the community members
Direct beneficiaries per year: 232 moms through our DBMS Program and approximately 45 community members through our PFP Program
Geographic areas served: Five counties of Pennsylvania; Philadelphia, Delaware, Bucks, Montgomery, State of Massachusetts and Rhode Island and Chester
Programs: Doula By My Side (DBMS) Program - provides non-medical support, peer-to-peer mentoring and home visitation along with specialized services to women who are at-risk or diagnosed with high-risk pregnancies. The curriculum our doula use is Partners for a Healthy Baby Home Visiting. The Pal for Parents Program (PFP) has been launched with the intent of furthering awareness on preventative healthcare and maternal health for the entire family. This program offers courses that enforce healthy lifestyles both mentally and physically for community members.
