Mission: The peter c. Alderman foundation is an international agency dedicated to strengthening mental health, recovery and resilience for communities devastated by violence and armed conflict. Our teams implement transformative solutions providing every individual the opportunity to rebuild, recover and thrive.
Programs: Uganda clinics: the organization treated over 10,000 patients with various forms of mental illness in four clinics located in northern uganda (arua, kitgum, gulu and soroti). The organization also conducted training, community outreach programs and collected and analyzed patient data quarterly.
kenya: the organization provides trauma service at the woodley clinic in kebera, nairobi. The clinic treated patients with various forms of mental illness. The clinic also staffs community health workers who provide outreach in kibera slums. They are responsible for reaching, identifying and referring patients to the clinic. Our partner, the africa mental health foundation, provides on-going supervision and organization senior staff make bi-annual site visits.
