Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: The Pet Adoption Connection is an all volunteer run, 501(c) (3) non-profit animal rescue and placement group based in Orange County, California. We are dedicated to the rescue of adoptable, non-aggressive dogs, puppies, cats and kittens that have been abandoned, from shelter situations, owner releases and are otherwise unwanted or homeless. (Currently, a large percentage of the dogs/puppies we rescue are from the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control as the need for rescue is so great.) We provide these animals with foster care, medical treatment, worming, spaying/neutering, and vaccinations until their placement into loving permanent homes. We do not have a kennel facility, so all the animals we accept into our program live in “foster homes” or with their current owners until they are adopted. Foster volunteers provide for the total care of the fostered animals in their own homes. Our goal is to decrease the number of animals being euthanized in animal shelters or dying alone in the desert or on the city streets. We do this by taking them into our homes and caring for them until we can find loving permanent homes for them. We help people with pet-related problems, promote responsible pet-ownership and pet population control by creating public awareness of our cause through education and community networking. We happily work with other rescues for the common goal of saving the lives of unwanted pets.

I would never adopt through this group as the volunteer that I encountered was rude, unhelpful and had no social skills. Hopefully she relates better with animals. Your volunteers need to realize that there are warm, loving families coming to PetSmart specifically to see the pets that are up for adoption. There is no need for the volunteers to be harsh and act like drill sergeants when interacting with potential adoptive families. It was just a weird and disappointing experience.

I've been acquainted with the folks of Pet Adoption Connection for about 6 years. They've got huge hearts and rescue animals that others would give up on. We adopted 2 of our pets through PAC. They rescued both as puppies suffering from Parvo and Mange. They took care of all the medical treatments and loved those puppies back to health. Our family has been blessed to have them.

I work with Pet Adoption Connection and can tell you that the work we do is not easy but we do it all for the love of the animals whose lives we touch. We are a very small but mighty group of all volunteers who have out own lives, family and full time jobs to attend to but we find the time for all the beautiful fur babies that need the help from our group. We rescue from a county shelter and take in dogs that would otherwise be "put to sleep". I know that the job we do is a difficult one but we give hope to the hopeless. I think our volunteers are the BEST! I hear from adopters on a regular basis about how wonderful their new family members are and I love to hear it. Please visit our groups website and find out about the work we do rescuing these otherwise unwanted babies. Also check out our Facebook page and like us and follow us there as well. You will find out all you need to know about what we do by checking us out that way. We could always use your support as well.
