Mission: People's grocery operates at the intersection of public health, economic development and food systems. Its mission is to improve the health and local economy of west oakland through investing in the local food system.
Programs: Cal hotel urban agriculture garden-25 health and nutrition demonstrations for community members hosted in the garden-243 volunteers-2,405 bunches of produce growth and distributed to community. 1,350 eggs gathered and distributed to community residents. -2,140 starts grown in greenhouse and sold (sliding scale) to community partners. -14 tour groups.
strategic partnerships-regular facilitation and organization of community advisory council for the csf farm park and people's community market.
growing justice institute-five food justice projects championed by community leaders, three graduates of two-year program. -financial and social capital bolstered for al participants due to networking and resources provided by people's grocery.
