Mission: Pennsylvania organization for watersheds and rivers advocates for the protection, restoration, and enjoyment of our commonwealth of water resources, and conducts programs that foster stewardship, communication, leadership and action.
Programs: Sojourns/insurance: statewide program to provide high profile, water-focused recreation and educational events on pennsylvania's rivers and waterways. Engages over 1,000 people each year through multi-day, overnight paddling trips across the state, traversing 500+ miles of rivers, and offering over 100 educational programs. Leverages funding and volunteer time at 3 to 1 rates, and involves partnerships of over 50 nonprofit, public and corporate entities. Also, program to provide non-profit watershed organizations access to reduced rates for general liability insurance coverage that would be prohibitively expensive through other avenues. By accessing this program, organizations can take part in more activities, expanding the resources available for the protection, restoration and enjoyment of our water resources, as well as allowing them to conduct programs that foster stewardship, communication, leadership and action.
