As a member of this organization, I can tell you that they are a dedicated, caring and passionate group of people. They are that friend that listens when no one else will. They are that calm and caring voice in the night reassuring you that it's going to be ok. They are people who live with the struggles of mental illness every day. They are the folks who stand by, stand for, and stand with the people in our community. A donation to Peers in Cayuga County is an investment in the community. Good people helping people.

I volunteer for the organization. I have helped people apply for ssi benefits, listened and supported many people. I have created a monthly newsletter which talks about a variety of mental health issues. It is rewarding to see someone come in feeling like they are the only one who is going through a particular situation and see them find relief after talking with us and realizing we get what they are going through. Currently, everyone involved in Peers in Cayuga County are peer specialist.
