Peace, Love and Lemonade, a complete voluntary organization, hold several events every year, and many lemonade stands all over the USA to bring awareness to Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. They are striving to make TSC a household name, in hopes of someday finding a cure!
This year they were bestowed the honor of being sponsored by the Miami HEAT!
At the time I joined this charity as a volunteer more than 3 years ago, I was like most, unaware of what TSC was. This family based charity was designed to help bring awareness and understanding of what TSC is and is 100% dedicated to assisting in finding a cure. From lemonade stands, to casino gala's and the newest fund raising event a color run, they make raising money fun and family oriented. With more people becoming aware of their desire and the continuous support of sponsors, perhaps a cure will be found in the very near future.
This a small non-profit run by a group of volunteers. No one receives any compensation whatsoever. We encourage other familes (mainly children) to host lemonade stands and take a stand for tuberous sclerosis complex. 95% of all monies received are donated back to other non-profits that assist families with TSC and or provide research and or care for patients with TSC.
This charity was set up to increase the awareness of the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex disease and to raise funds for its cure. One interesting and important fact is that 100% of proceeds go directly to the cure. Nobody is paid a salary!
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex is more common than Lou Gehrig's disease, but because of its difficult name few people are aware of it. TSC is a leading cause of autism. When TSC is caught early in a child's life, that child can be treated to reduce the number of symptoms, and lessen the future effects of this horrible disease.
