Amazing mission. Kind people. Wonderful opportunities for all people and animals. Supporting all, great and small !
So much hard work is put into this farm. It certainly is a welcoming place for all to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, gardens, and to learn and enjoy and watch all the animals. It's just perfect for children of all ages as well as adults. Such a great working, learning experience.
I am in love with this nonprofit. First off, I love animals in general, and when I heard their story, the animals they rescue and how they help them, I was amazed. They are so kind and considerate. They try everything in their power to help the animals. Their mission statement and what they stand for really spoke to me too.
I’ve watched Patchwork Pastures grow from rescued parakeets, a little peahen, and two little piggies(Peanut and Butter) into an organization with more animals than one can easily count. Their devotion to these animals shows us the compassion still left in this world and their determination to help those in recovery is admirable. Patchwork gives those in need the chance to heal in nature and be free from the stress of the real world, even if just for a few hours.
Had the pleasure of visiting Patchwork Pastures this past weekend for a fundraising Barn sale. We were given a great tour and a background of what exactly they are doing there. It’s so organized and clean and you can tell it’s run by people who truly care about all the animals. They all have names, which isn’t easy considering how many there are. They are doing great things out there!
Rachel and Alan have created such an amazing sanctuary for animal and human alike. The animals who have found their fur-ever home at their rescue are some of the happiest, most spoiled beings in existence! Anyone would be lucky to spend time with these animals, giving them love while learning to love themselves! I was lucky enough to even bring home my newest member of the family from their rescue… Roxy the pig!
Patchwork Pastures has given me a second chance not only at my career but in life. Being surrounded by all of these precious animals and having the ability to make a difference in their lives is priceless. I never really understood how an animal could be rendered "unwanted" but quickly realized how in sync it is to a parent not wanting a child who is challenged, only to realize how "this" animal can help "this young person" find self love again. I don't know of any other organization programs that match or even come close to this. And to top it off the organizations volunteers and board members are truly exceptional, all family members of, or individuals themselves in recovery. Their "bifold mission" bringing recovery and nature together will make the world of difference for both animals and humans alike. Memories my daughter and I will cherish forever.
An amazing nonprofit animal rescue that also helps at risk young adults in recovery.
When I look into the eyes of the rescued animals I see lots of love, this fills my heart more than words can say.
This place offers such a positive experience. Two and four legged alike are friendly, happy & inviting! Love visiting this farm.
We rescue farm animals. These guys are so loved and well taken care of. People friendly. You haven't lived until a turkey falls asleep in your lap; or you have cuddled with an alpaca, or been kissed by a goat!
A wonderful organization in so many ways. Not only are they helping young adults they are helping animals who have no where to go. Potbelly pigs have become the craze many people have noIdea what they are getting into and want to dump these wonderful animals and thank God for organizations like them. We rescued 2 pigs from them and could not be happier. We will continue to support them anyway we can
Rachel and Alan have combined their gifts in a most creative and uplifting way to create Patchwork Pastures. They provide the structure, skill-building and encouragement to help those affected by mental health issues and addiction, and the rescue animals provide the love. Who rescued who? Patchwork Pastures brings recovery and nature together. Highly recommend!
We started this non profit as parents of children directly affected by mental health challenges, opioid and heroin addiction and domestic violence. Never in my lifetime, as a mother, did I think I would be faced with such darkness. Patchwork Pastures was conceived from the trials and errors of having my children in and out of multiple recovery homes and programs, all which made a contribution to their recovery, but left them wanting more. Recognizing the natural calm that overcomes individuals when they are introduced to nature and animals became a game changer. Nature can be the best therapy we quickly realized, and moved forward to develop our 5 step program incorporating volunteering, community service, internships, apprenticeships, mentoring, life skills and on the job training. Follow us as we move into a new life expanding our program to build a zoo ALL run by and with individuals celebrating recovery from substance use, mental health challenges or re-entry from incarceration. It's going to be AMAZING!
